Nigel De Jong has done so many things worse...

It's not the thing he did MH, of course there's worse offences out there. It's his seemingly blatant disregard for the offence (regardless of its nature) and the previous punishments that have been handed down to him.

This is his THIRD time doing this Sh*t.

Why is Suarez the only player in world football who gets done for every previous offence every time he gets done? Why when it comes to Suarez is it never the current offence that is punished? Its always his past offences?

I've never know this of any other serial offender, of which there have been plenty.

And what is that to do with anything? Where in the laws of the game does it mention that if you commit the same offence your punishment increases?

Also would you not say the likes of Keane and Vieira committed the same offence three times during their career?

Odd comment.

Starting to think that this behaviour is intentional to force us to wash our hands of him at a cut price.

The excuse is pitiful, lost his balance causing him to hit his face on his shoulder, dear me.

It's not what you know, it's what you can prove that matters. So far, I've seen no video evidence of blatant biting like there was with Ivanovic. His defense might stand, it's worth a try. Can't get anymore worse than this anyway.

It's not an odd comment at all.  ???

Keane was a dirty ***** and at times a disgrace to the game and if he'd tried to break a players leg three times in a row, the book would have been thrown at him. In fact he probably would have been facing a longer ban than Luis. In actual fact he got a further ban for the Haaland foul, simply because he wrote about it in his autobiography.

However, this is the THIRD time that Suarez has bitten somebody on the field.

I'll repeat, because some people seem to be having trouble with it.

This is the THIRD time that Suarez has bitten somebody on the field!!!!

Despite his previous bans for the EXACT SAME offence.

Luis has been given a harsh penalty, but it's one he deserves and if he was playing for another team next season, you'd be applauding it.

Tonyeh I don't go along with the playing for another team argument. The treatment and media coverage that Suarez has received is unprecedented. The Evra incident was unproven and Evra was given the benefit of the doubt because he was regarded as more reliable during the hearing. The recent alleged biting offence is far from clear based on the evidence made available. Suarez's behaviour at times is downright stupid but I do not believe that it warrants the level of mass hysteria that it receives. I find it fascinating that attempting to break somebody's leg and having a nibble on somebody are even compared. I appreciate that it doesn't set a good example but is it really that bad in the overall scheme of things? The first time he bit somebody he was banned for 7 matches - why seven matches? YOU'D HAVE THOUGHT HE TRY TO KILL SOMEBODY ON THE PITCH !!

I say that because I would hope that he doesnt use it as an excuse for asking for a transfer again; which says something about his commitment to the side. He probably will, which is a real shame.

Dont get me wrong, I couldnt care less if he wants to be here or not. I really dont. No more than I did last season. I dont think he's the type to sulk and start under performing if he doesnt get his way. He might bite you, but he'll always give 100%. That, and his undeniable ability, are the only reasons we tolerate him. It is also the only reason we stand up for him like idiots (myself included, and I will probably continue to do so) when we know full well that he was out of line. I expect Uruguay to appeal. I expect Liverpool to do all they can to try and get the ban changed in some form or the other. I dont see it working but it is understandable that everyone would.

That said, I think the best thing the club can do is to come out and say that they accept the ban, that they stand behind FIFA's ruling, and that Suarez would be fined the maximum possible and forced to seek help.

Totally disagree with most of that Ace. He is not as some people suggest an idiot. He is guilty of some stupid behaviour but there are numerous players that are guilty of far worse.

u ridiculed my earlier post ?? :)

Name the players who have done worse than bite someone, and what they actually did!!? Did Barton do worse than that.?

Biting is barbaric, and far worse than a headbutt, punch, or stamp.

He is an idiot mate for that sort of action on a football pitch.

I.dont know where u get your morals from lad!!

I don't think anybody is comparing the offence though Dev. Of course trying to break someone's leg is worse than biting.

But, again, this is the third time he's done this exact same action on a pitch. It's continuity and the blatant disregard for what's happened before that's forcing the ruling bodies hand.

Fifa have to do something here and they have to be tough on it as well.

As a Liverpool fan, I'm fuming at how that affects the team, but the effect on Liverpool is incidental. Fifa are punishing Suarez and rightly too. You simply cannot keep doing the same Sh*t on the field and NOT expect a harsh rebuke, regardless of precedent.

I'd agree with you about the hysteria, but put simply, that's what you have to expect in football these days, when such a series of crazy incidents are carried out by a player in full view of the entire world. I'd also agree that the 7 match ban for his first bite was perhaps a but harsh, but I would reckon that the fact that play had stopped had something to do with the harsher penalty.

The ban is harsh (especially on us) but at the end of the day if Luis kept his teeth to himself there wouldn't be an issue.
