The Spanish side are offering the Liverpool striker a five-year deal worth £160,000 a week to move to the Nou Camp.

But Barcelona chiefs are insisting that the contract contains special clauses to ensure that he behaves well both on and off the pitch.

Suarez has already been banned by FIFA for fourth months after his World Cup shame which saw him bite Italy defender Georgio Chiellini . It is the third time he has bitten an opponent in his career.

Barcelona are anxious to ensure that he behaves well - and also recognise they will need to appease some of their supporters.

Liverpool are demanding £80m while Barcelona only want to pay £50m total, which could include Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez as a £30m makeweight in the deal.

Barcelona will also back Suarez in his battle to fight the ban or have it reduced. Suarez is believed to be ready to hire top lawyer Juan De Dios Crespo who is a specialist in sporting cases.

Suarez, who maintains his innocence and claims it was an accidental clash after he lost balance, is ready to take his case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland.

his ban is going to get overturned  :nod only a matter of time imo.
if we are resigned to losing him then it should be on our terms and not whatever barca think they can offer us. it has to be 50 mil + sanchez or we are being rode. if sanchez isnt interested then they stump up the full 80 million or he stays whether he likes it or not.

Why would he take less than what he is making now

maybe he is that desperate to get out or maybe we are not paying him anything near that figure?  i thought he was getting 120k here with extra in performance related bonuses ?

If it is true, surely that is insult. Would he like to play for them in those conditions? I'm feeling he will stay with us now when he might have left before "The Bite" heard across the world.

barca or any other club are dead right to insist that a bite clause exists in his contract. lets face reality and the fact that if he bites someone else then he will get a lifetime ban and they will lose everything they have or will invest in him.  they ain't that stupid and if he still wants to go running to them then he'd want to make sure it never happens again.

Uruguay's President Jose Mujica has called football's world governing body Fifa "a bunch of old sons of bitches" over Luis Suarez's four-month ban.

The 79-year-old described the punishment, which also included a suspension for nine international matches, as a "fascist ban".

Luis Suarez has been offered a shock escape from his four-month worldwide Fifa ban – by Kosovo Superleague outfit Hajvalia.

The Uruguayan forward will be sidelined until November from all football after being banned for biting Italy's Giorgio Chiellini during lasts week's World Cup victory in Natal.

Barcelona are expected to pursue a move for the 27-year-old, despite his stringent suspension.

But the Catalan giants now face a rival for Suarez's signature with Hajvalia prepared to hand the player a chance to play during his ban as a result of Kosovo yet to become full members of Fifa and therefore unaffected by the governing body's regulations

"Suarez can't play in the next four months," Xhavit Pacolli, the club's director told Kosovo's daily, Sport Plus.

"As we are not part of Fifa yet, I think he can play in Kosovo, so we have an offer that we will send to Liverpool.

Hajvalia are willing to pay Liverpool £25,000 and give Suarez a salary of £1200 per month if he accepts the offer of playing in the tiny Balkan state.

"This is the maximum we can offer," Pacolli said."We offered £25,000 and a salary of £1200 for each month.

"This might sound ridiculous to him, but that is all we can do.

"If he is willing to come and play for us, he is welcome. As we are not part of Fifa, it would be ideal for him"

Hajvalia finished last season 6th, and are owned by a famous folk singer, known as Meda.

Kewell mate you tried to convince everybody last summer that the best thing to do was to sell him for £40m !! Well that plan really would have worked wouldn't it?

Awful person????? Yes he has had done some stupid things on a football pitch but do you really think he falls into a similar category as the likes of Adolph Hitler. Bit of a silly comment.

Banned half the time????? Why bother with accurately reporting the facts for the sake of a good story.

You sound like our gutter press to be honest. During the 2013/14 season Luis's behaviour has been impeccable both on and off the pitch. Mind you his behaviour off the pitch, not like some of the really nasty fkrs in the game, has always been excellent. He makes one stupid mistake. The street fighter and the will to win got the better of him. As a result you want him binned. My fear is that if committed one of these misdemeanours again he would receive a lifetime ban such is the level of idiotic punishment being attributed to his offence. The media coverage is unprecedented. Why is biting regarded as so much worse than stamping on a players ankle in a game where morality is a thing of the past? He received a 7 match ban the first time he had a nibble on somebody. That was ridiculously harsh to say the least. He is no angel but he does not deserve the absurd amount of garbage that is being thrown at him. I find it a shame mate that even after what Luis did for us last season you still, as a Liverpool fan, feel it necessary to castigate him.

Suarez has play 100 games for us, yet with this new ban he will have missed 27 through suspension. You hear that, 27 games in three seasons. It’s insane. Even Vinnie Jones would struggle to notch up that many bans.

But, you’re right, I did call for us to offload him last summer, because he was being a class A tw@t.  Even BR said publicly that Suarez had shown a “total disrespect” for LFC. But as you say, he said sorry and concentrated on his football and proved he is a world class talent. Don’t get me wrong, he IS WORLD CLASS and has the potential to be one of the greatest strikers of all time. But that’s not the issue here, is it?

You say he makes ONE stupid mistake and everyone jumps on him…but it isn’t just the ONE mistake, is it? This is the THIRD time he’s bitten someone and what happens if he does it again? Will he get a 1 year ban? 2 years?  Lifetime? I really have no confidence that Suarez will not do this (or something else, stupid) again. Then what? Our season will be written off with our best player banned and deemed financially worthless. Why take the risk?

I say he's worth 70-80 million and I say we sell if someone pays that. Nothing less.

70-80 million
Talk about deluded...

Everyone's been harping on about how kids watch football and might see Luis and copy what he's done. If all these people are so serious about it from that angle then why the hell have I saw nothing but funny pics and jokes about it all over social mediaand then the BBC have started showing people 'suarezing' all over the internet? Surely that's glorifying it. It's riddled with hipocrisy

Lineker's just been on Twater saying that an apology is the clause that Barca is insisting on before any move happens.

If the little cunt is trying to engineer a move away, well, I just won't know what to think.

I thot Suarez apologise and regret biting Bakkal and that he was "truly sorry" for biting Ivanovic and asked for forgiveness...so what's new now? he "deeply regretted" biting Chiellini? fuck he sounded like he was forced to post that piece of "apology" on Tweeter

...and I'm surprised we haven't heard from the expert that's David Cameron as yet?

Most gifted footballer we've ever had in my opinion but his drama has now completely consumed the club.

We need to end it and part ways, let other players take headlines for the right reasons and allow the club to breathe.

Suarez ego has not only taken him over but also his country and club and I will be amazed if he starts the season with us.

Yeah, I think the whole episode has made it impossible for him to stay at LFC. It's a huuuuge pity because he is a fantastic player, but if he is also a bit of a knob and ultimately, if he wants out that badly (again), well, hell roast 'im. Let him go. I hope he performs as well for his next club as Torres did for his when he left us. Sorry..... that's not very nice is it?
The apology does indeed look entirely manufactured and it does seem suspiciously timed, given the alleged on-going negotiations.

Let me get this right.

Suarez: I didn't bite
Suarez: I feel onto his shoulder with my teeth
Barca: if Suarez wants to play for us he must apologise
Suarez: I'm sorry I bit him

I have a gut feeling he will be going to Barcelona. I truly  hope we hold out for his true playing value - >£80M

It's becoming clear he is engineering a move away, I have always been a supporter of his throughout the trials and tribulations but it is becoming increasingly clear he is trying to mug us off.

Such a shame

The apology is to appease Barca, no f**kin way should we involve our lawyers for the time being. We're in a catch 22 here, fight the ban and succeed and that could add a few quid to our asking price and do Barca's dirty work, fight it and lose and we're mugs, fight it succeed and he leaves and we're mugs.
