By the time he can lace up a pair of boots for us again he is going to be on the verge of turning 28 and as good as he is at that age you don't have your best years ahead of you. £80m for someone who has maybe two seasons left of his footballing prime is a ridiculous amount of money tbh.
Last season may have even been the high water mark, the odds of him scoring 31 league goals again are pretty long.
Let's face it as well he's not exactly LFC through and through either, only last summer he was perfectly happy to do a Torres and engineer a move to one of our domestic rivals and even before this latest incident his father in law was laying the groundwork for a move to Spain. We all love him because he's so good but from Luis point of view this has always been a marriage of convenience. He's always had one eye on the exit door.
If we can somehow include Sanchez as part of the deal and get Markovic as well then I think we'd be well set for the future.
People say look at the Tottenham situation but Atletico lost Falcao and were a minute away from doing the League and European cup double so it's not necessarily a given that the @rse will fall out of us if we lose our best player.
Maybe events have run their course and it's time LFC and Luis Suarez parted ways.

The lad is irreplaceable and if we lose him it will be our loss. Sanchez will not in any way make up for losing him. We would need Sanchez, Tevez, Begovic a right back and centre half to even nearly be at the same level he is that good.
If I could get thirty or forty mil in two or three years I'd rather take that

There is no spin you can put on that to justify that statement. Your best players create tim spirit, inspire and motivate through giving others confidence. Suarez impact on sturridge, Henderson and sterling last season was clear for all to see. He took them all on a level and their confidence went through the roof because of him.

Starting to think that this behaviour is intentional to force us to wash our hands of him at a cut price.
