I don't rate shelvey, one bit, sorry.

spearing is a better player.

he's not a prolific striker, and we are better offloading asap.

I don't understand why KK brought him back if he isn't going to play him at all? I really feel for the lad ,he had a good run in Blackpool and now he is back to the bench in Anfield.
The frustration is even bigger considering Adam and Hendo are Dog Shiite.

I watched Jonjo Shelvey in the skin at Aston Villa's ground in late december and he looked good, he seems like an intelligent player who can also make things happen. I was suitably impressed with him and from what I've read he looked very good at Blackpool, putting in solid performances. He's only 20 and is by no means the finished article, I want to see more of him in midfield, but it seems that Kenny is hell bent with giving Charlie Adam regular starting slots in the side.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxiolosU ... re=related - I remember being wax lyrical about this to my friends when I saw it.

Jonjo has a bright future in the game (if he can turn his potential into quality on a consistent basis), let's hope it's at Liverpool and not somewhere else.

one of the few positives from that drivel earlier was jonjo's display.
he looked a much better option than adam or henderson.always looks for a chance to go forward and showed some great vision along with some sweet passes.in 20 minutes he has excited me more than adam or hendo has for the whole season.
he deserves more time on the field after that performance and hopefully kenny gives it to him.

Agree w/ RTID Shelvey looks the best option going forward.  He should start every game til season's end.

the most natural successor to gerrard we have within the ranks is jonjo.he is a much better option and player than henderson and for that reason he should start ahead of him every time.
gerrard is waning and we all know he isnt able to hit the high standards as often as he used to but yet we continue to expect him to do it everygame when the rest of the team are hiding.
the same expectations rest on his shoulders back in 2006 as they do now in 2012 and its unfair on the lad as he has been one of this clubs greatest ever servants but just has been unfortunate to be a part of so many underperforming sides.
i can totally understand him being frustrated and waving his arms in despair as it must kill him that we have a bunch of clueless nimrods lining up along side him every week.

Gerrard should not have the burden of operating as a holding midfielder its as simple as that mate ,its sadly no longer his position .

If it ever was. He has been at his best playing in a free role on the "wing" or just behind torres. He has never been that great as a holding midfielder, even if some journalists seem to think so. We desperately need goals but we keep playing one of the players that have provided plenty of goals for the last seasons on our own half.

It does not look like he is "leading by example" anymore either. Gerrard looks as ***** off as Pepe.

Totally agree mate ,Gerrard for me personally has never been as potent as he was under Benitez when deployed in the roles you mentioned .

He was our only midfielder in the midfield trio that looked creative, he just needs regular first team football and I'm positive he'll develop into a good player for us. He has the potential, it's whether or not the club will help develop that potential into solid talent, that's the question. He definitely offers more than Adam, Spearing and Lucas in midfield.

I was nodding in mutual agreement ,and then you mentioned Lucas ...and then we hit a wall called 'difference of opinion '
