I really hope Kenny can get to the FA Cup final...win and then step down with some dignity. it isn't working and the board won't sack him either, which makes this all the more painful

so if we win 2 cups and finish 6th/7th in the league you reckon he should step down?

In terms of support for a manager, for us all, it will come to a point of..'how much is enough'..! Is this that point?

Ridiculous that any manager who wins 2 cups and finishes in the top10 with a side that isnt good enough to compete for the league title would be sacked. That said, I do worry about our chances of getting a top4 finish next season if Kenny doesn't improve in many aspects of his management. A month or two ago the discussion was about him fixing some of the mistakes we were making earlier in the season. Today, I can honestly say that not only are we repeating the same mistakes, he seem to be adding new ones too.
Off the top of my head, i can think of at least 5 key areas that Kenny seems to be struggling with:

-transfers
-selections
-formation
-substitutions
-media interaction

In recent games we've seen the side play 4-4-2, 4-1-4-1, 4-3-3 and a whole bunch of other permutations. I don't know if Kenny genuinely doesn't know his best formation and lineup or if he's simply altering the setup to counter different side but its definitely not helping the players and more importantly its not working.

We can blame the players all we want for their lack of effort and application (both true to some extent) but the manager does himself no favors by changing things around as much as he does. Kuyt down the left, right, as a forward, behind the forward. Henderson & Downing are a similar story. Downing starts playing well down the left, next game hes moved to the right. Carroll started performing well and scoring, next game he's on the bench. Kuyt and Suarez start linking up well upfront, next game they arent paired upfront...etc etc

Lets not kid ourselves here, theres a strong case against Kenny not deserving another go based on HIS performance so far this season, with or without the cup runs. I'd still give him another go but for his and everyones sake I hope we do win that FA cup because without it, not only will his job come under increased scrutiny, he'll also be under serious pressure next season to hit the ground running.

FFS Kewell, how many times do you need to say it on here. We get "your" message but to be honest it's not your opinion that counts when it comes to just who manages Liverpool Football Club.

That decision is largely down to the owners and Kenny himself.

Your a fan and you have a right to your opinion. You can excercise your opinion in a variety of ways but to be frank coming on an internet forum and telling anyone who will listen is probably the one that costs you the least.

If your a fan who goes to games and you feel so strongly then don't attend the matches (worked in getting rid of Hodgson when gates were 10,000 down toward the end of his il fated reign).

Stop buying the merchandise if thats how you choose to support the club or cancel your LFCtv subscription.

OR

Do nothing but please stop spouting the same old line every time someone dares to have a different opinion on the matter !

I think the most honorable thing (and hopefully what will happen) is that Kenny will step down at the end of the season.

I can't see him turning this around, we need a top manager (which it is hard to accept but Kenny is not) to come and rebuild this mess.

We have to swallow our pride and accept that things can't continue they way they are no matter how much we love Kenny.

I don't think that is the question we should asking ourselves StMichael.

The important question is at the end of the season can Kenny get us out of this hole he has unfortunately dug us in with his poor signings?

Sorry mate, I just don't have any faith that he can as we are really, really struggling at the moment..........

then who should take over?
realistically?

bearing in mind, the high touted young manager in this forum, AVb, was sacked a month ago...
who shld take over now if we sacked Kenny?

how do we know if he can turn it around if we don't give him the chance? honestly, the guy has been the full time manager for less than a year and already some of our fans want him sacked. we may as well be chelsea ffs. it's embarassing.

and as for the money argument, i couldn't give a monkey's how much players cost if they are good enough. unfortunately the players we signed in the summer have yet to flourish yet. however to think that because we've spent £100m and aren't in the top 4 that kenny must go is nonsense. man city spent over £300m and still didn't get top 4 in their first season of spending big and yet still kept mancini. they could well win sod all again this season having spent another £150m.  we have no divine right to be a champions league team anymore and that's the harsh reality.

i love this forum in general. it's at it's most busiest when the team is doing badly all the time. some people almost want to use this bad league run as justification as a reason to have a go at kenny (winning a cup on penalties doesn't count apparently). it was the same when rafa was here and some things will never change. we have players at this club who need to have a look at themselves and their own performance before we start having a go at the manager.

We have made expensive mistakes and I’m not sure who we should blame — Dalglish, Comolli, the owners, etc. Everybody knows that Carroll was a mistake, Jordan Henderson is a different story. He’s a kid, 21 years of age but I can’t see anything special about him. He looks like he’ll be an average footballer at best. Jonjo Shelvey on the other hand is a player who you can see turning into something special. He should be starting instead of Henderson.

It’s a depressing situation at the moment and losing to Wigan really hurt but for the majority of games this season I’ve seen some really good football, we just can’t seem to find the back of the net (the usual). I think the players are just not arsed with the league at this stage — which is absolutely unacceptable. I’m really not looking forward to next weeks game against Newcastle, they look like a much better team than us at the moment and it’s possible that we could drop below Everton and Sunderland next weekend.

I don’t agree with people when they say “bring back Rafa”. How easily people forget. We had many of the same complaints about Rafa: Awful transfers, constantly rotating, never letting the first XI settle, bizarre substitutions, poor league form, icy relationships with the players, etc. People were calling for his head by the end of it and now you want him back?

I don’t really know what’s going to happen and I am not sure should Dalglish stay or go, but I am very very concerned about the future of this football club.

I kind of go with most of what people are saying, I think Kenny will hold his hands up at the end of the season and say its  time for someone else,  the game has changed too much since I've been away

The only thing that HAS changed is the pampered millionaires who today play like pussies with no heart and think they deserve to wear the Liverpool shirt. The mentality of footballers has changed - they're weak because they are kept pampered by lucrative wages.

i would concur that Kenny fully deserves a chance to rectify things next season. To release Kenny after his first full season would be pretty scandalous... next season is judgement. He has to rectify the errors he made with his uk signings, and that can be done (for a substantial loss obviously) but we will be getting rid of midtable level players who belong in the midtable clubs we plucked them from. Two big signings (central mid, and striker)... from La Liga (cheaper, better quality)...and we have a different team. Its actually very small margins. Jason McAteer (not the sharpest granted) commented after the recent Everton game that if we had a quality number 9 we would be having a completely different season, Think Arsenal without Van Persie.. now we are not demanding that level of quality/contribution (would be nice of course) but a top class forward. Luis is a very mobile technical forward, very quick on the turn.. he needs a quality player up there to compliment him. He is unplayable with Uruguary.... the Copa America showed his quality when paired with quality.

Lucas will hopefully have recovered fully.... so thats...  Lucas, Gerrard, Sterling, Suarez...new central midfielder (playmaker...a Javi Martinez) and stiker (both have to be first team quality). I want Kenny to get another season and hopefully he can make the necessary changes to turn around what has been a shocking league season.

We've not won the FA Cup yet. And anyway, when Rafa was around, top 4 was the minimum expectation, he failed and was sacked. Now that Kenny is around, finishing 7th is ok? Roy Hodgson was sacked for the poor results. Kenny on the other hand seems to have "diplomatic immunity" from the fans because he's a legend. The past 11 games have been 2 wins, 2 draws and 7 losses.

How long you supported Liverpool for?
