And why were we bad then Daws? Because the owners were forcing Rafa to sell players to pay of the interest and not giving him all the money back to spend. FFS I really can't see the logic sometimes around here. We were in the red and had to pay off the banks so chopping Rafa's kitty was the only thing we can do. Good teams always improve their squads, even when they are winning. We were forced to buy shyte towards the end, freebies such as Degen ect... no wonder we were Sh*t then. You think had we kept the likes of Mascherano and Alonso we would have still be Sh*t at the end of Rafa's era? Wake up mate.

No one is ever blameless mate, and he even admitted he made mistakes but I suppose you can't use the 20mil Aquilani card any more seeing as that's been trumped good and proper by Carroll right?  On a side note there was an article on SI recently and Rafa was saying back then the plan was to get both Aquilani AND Stefan Jovetic using the Alonso money BUT... the owners pulled the rug on the last one. Same thing when he was going to buy Keane and Barry and only ended up getting Keane. Truth is there is probably much we don't know about that went on during those days so I wouldn't be so quick to slam all the blame on him. Id give my left arm to have the squad we had under him back. We came as close to winning the league as we have under any manager in the last 10 years.

Can you imagine any player who performs like this sad bunch for most of the season still be allowed to put on a red shirt by SAF? I hated the old whiskey nose but I respected him for his management style...so lets see what Kenny's gonna do about it? if he persist with picking players such as Henderson, Carroll, Downing and Adam (all his signings) for the upcoming games, then it shows weak management skills and I'm sure the owners will definitely take actions by end of the season.

But what does that help? Winning both vs Everton will mean nothing as they can overtake us the next fixture.
So we get up for the games vs the " big teams and fail misearbly vs every relegation fodder in the league.

It was always my fear when fan power and the new owners went after Kenny in an act of absolute desperation when he was enjoying life on a cruise! Let's face it he was under minimal pressure when he took over as manager. If he failed it was Roy's fault and if he succeeded he was a miracle man. Fourth place became a real possibility but poor results  to West Ham,WIgan and West Brom ended any chance of that happening.No criticism was aimed at Kenny which was understandable but only to a degree given some of his tactical decisions.  Kenny took over a team in problems with new inexperienced owners and his second half of the season results reads  WON 11 LOST 7 DRAWN 5 which isn't really anything special. We even went out of the EL to Braga.Was Kenny's second half of the season performance really that impressive or were we just happy to see the back of H & G and Hodgson?

Kenny has behaved like a man under very serious pressure and does not look very well.His media peformances at times have been somewhat off the wall! I know he regards his job as unfinished business but is it really doing his health any favours. He looks as if he has aged ten years in the last 15 months!

Forget about the cup runs,in the last 11 Premiership games we have WON 2 DRAWN 2 AND LOST 7 which simply isn't acceptable.Is that being constructive? If it was anybody else other than Kenny.....

As for Rafa he had three very serious problems: he was ridiculously stubborn,he had Parry to contend with,he had to operate under the worst owners the Premiership has ever experienced.Two of the problems have gone and I am not sure I would want Rafa back unless he could bring the old Torres back with him.Alonso could do a job as well but then Rafa did kind of fk that one up !! Oh well nobody's perfect !!

The most heavily criticised manager in the last 10 years Rafa is the manager who took us the closest and who also had the best team since indeed Daglish last won the league, can you remember when we had the song for the best midfield. Xabi Alonso Momo Sissoko, Gerrard and Mascharanooooo.

Point being I'd have him back, I reckon he would even manage the club for nothing,  except to final get the money he wanted to sign kwality players!!

God where do we go from here? I have no idea it just seems the same story season after season. Really depressing me now and no idea what's going to happen next. The only thing I worry about is that kenny doesn't really ***** it up and end up tarnishing his king status. Maybe moving Carra into the coaching staff may bring a positive change

I wouldnt be so enamoured to have Rafa back.. his negativity cost us many games (deciding halfway through the 08/09 season we now have to go for wins when that philosophy should be from kick off in August)

Agree with every else you say though. Kenny's errors are clear for all to see.

i was disillusioned as hell today but not surprised. i could see it coming a mile off. i travelled home and knew for sure that top of this board would be the "should kenny go" thread. that's the stage we've unfortunately got to now. at the end of the day dalglish has got to look at the players who are letting him down and have the balls to drop them. after all he can do nothing about the player's lack of basic skills, intelligence and more importantly lack of desire. we were just going through the motions at times. what the hell can the manager do about our team's inability to pick a pass or gamble to get in the penalty area? it was embarassing stuff. the players for me have to have a long hard look at themselves recently, especially some of the senior ones. carragher i love but he's a liability now. enrique and skrtel have had probably their worst 2 games of the season in the last week. kuyt had a nightmare. it's ok saying "well the manager has to motivate these guys". the players shouldn't need motivating. you motivate yourself, after all you're playing for your own personal pride first and foremost. the application of certain individuals has been a joke recently. it's like we can only get up for big games against the better sides.

i still support kenny though. he's been in charge for 14 months now. it makes me laugh when people compare him to hodgson saying "well his record is quite similar" as if the two are somehow comparable. the football this season has been miles better for the majority without getting the rewards for the most part. under hodgson the football was utterly dire in nearly every game and we struggled to create a chance. i'll give kenny a chance to turn this around, not just because of who he is, but because i believe in giving a manager longer than just over a year to build something. ok his signings haven't had the desired impact but the love the guy has for the club and the fans is a tonic to that.

yes i've had a few drinks and am quite emotional but it's how i feel.

I really hope Kenny can get to the FA Cup final...win and then step down with some dignity. it isn't working and the board won't sack him either, which makes this all the more painful
