Yeah, rafa was :censored: 6 years we won European cup, FA cup nearest to winning league for 20 years a league cup final, signed one of the best goalie, midfielder and striker the clubs ever had. Seen most probably some of the best games this side of 1990. All done when the club was being asset stripped by a pair of gangsters. To me he,s up there with shankly paisley fagan, and kenny. Remember what he did, not what he did not. Oh and a 2nd European cup final in 2 years. Seems like years ago now.

I remember him forcing out Alonso because he thought Barry was a better player...

Rafas name will always be associated with Istanbul. He peaked too early and then lost the plot.
I will always remember the CL and FA cup wins with affection and for a while I thought he was the one.

Then he got his five year contract, and went back to the boring predictable, one dimensional football he seemed to enjoy.

I agree. Rafa did some great things...but he had his time here and it was time to move on.

RAWKs a joke...the admins have banned 20 posters over the last week for suggesting that Kenny might not be the one...

It shows how much patience the modern day fan has got doesn't it? But also note, the fiercest defenders of Kenny are the same ones who were oh so quick to stick the knife into Hodgson after just one game!

Mourinho could be available in June.

He is the style of character he need, tough, authoritative and knows how to win. WANTS to win.

Kenny moves upstairs as ditrector of football.

If we're serious about winning the league again we have to bring in the right people.

KK has a great track record as a manager leading his teams to become champions at Liverpool and later Blackburn. I'd say, let him at least finish his 3 year contract before demanding that he goes if things don't work out, but only if he still has the passion for the job.

Yes, I agree he had made some blunder signings in Carroll, Downing, Adam, Henderson and some of his team selections and substitutions seemed rather bizarre. But the problem with Liverpool is not just the manager. Let's look at the whole picture, we were reset backwards by H & G ownership, Rafa's deadwood signings and the horror of Hodgson's tenure which will need at least 3 seasons to rectify.

But what really concerns me now is, I am uncertain how much more funds the new owners have to finance new signings. If their funds are limited, then we're in trouble. We'll end up making lousy signings again year in year out.

I think Bolton on saturday was a wake up call for us all. It certainly was for KK who must have been living in a bubble if he didnt see the signs that we were cruising in previous matches and bound to get bitch slapped by inferior opposition. His defence of our players, while being admirable, has been misplaced because there has been a blatant slip in performance and attitude. KK must take the majority of the blame for this because of his tactics, team choices and formations. I hate to say it but he has brought back the worst aspects of Benitez and Houliier with his tinkering. We win a game like the newcastle one and he changes his mind and swaps players round. Theres no consitency or stability and it is hurting us. However, the players have let him down, particularly Henderson, Downing and Carroll. They have yet to make their mark and have played like they dont understand what is expected of them. Either that or they cant live up to the expectations. Johnson deserves a mention for his lacklustre and dithering performances, but overall it is a team game and each man must take responsibility.
KK must stamp his authority in the dressing room and carry out his threats. Players must be there on merit and if they fall short he must bring in the likes of Shelvey, Kelly and Spearing. If we lose we lose, but it wont be for the lack of trying with them three in the team.
