spotting areas of development is fine. Being absolutely critical of him in the means you have is just a joke quite frankly.

'useless in front of goal'

'I'd like to see him score more often' are two different statements - one laying into him, one identifying where he can improve
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

I think those odd goals (against Chelsea) won't be able to cover his overall poor performance since the beginning of the season and in fact since he signed for us.

The lad is just ,forgive my french ,stupid. His drawers are empty and he displays it almost every game he plays. He has a terrible perception of the ball speed and location. I would sell him as long as he still carries a high price tag.

Like you I've sometimes had my misgivings about his defensive capabilities but to describe him as "a terrible FB" is well off the mark.

Like the rest of our back four Glen seems to be finding some good form and displaying what he's capable of, right now I'm happy to see his name on the teamsheet.

BTW his "odd goal (against Chelsea)" in my book was sheer fking class, I'm amazed that his attacking potential has been so easily dismissed by so many .

Although i wasn't the one to claim "he is useless in front of goal" i did write him off...This is MY impression of the lad after YEARS playing for our club. I understand why people rate him because he does offer from time to time a strong dash forward ,a maginificent goal and this memory lingers on...But I try to judge players overtime and overall contribution to the game. He isn't commited ,he isn't smart and frankly not good enough. In my opinion Kelly and Flano defend just as well but they are more commited and more smart.

Compare Glen to Enrique and see the world of difference between them.

Sorry but I think all footballers should be able to hit the goal from 16 yards when they aren't under any pressure, can you imagine watching the Golf Masters and watching the top players slice and hook half their shots? no neither can I or watching Wimbledon with loads of shots flying wildly out or straight into the net. Football is the only professional sport where you can get away with being average even at the top flight.
All the midfield and forward Liverpool players need to practice shooting at goal, it should be the number one thing they practice until they learn how to do it properly.

Yeah , and every penalty taken by any player in any game should be scored.

going on goals return you're absolutely right...

A penalty has got to be one of the easiest things in football
A free kick at goal with only the goalkeeper in front of you (who cant move until the ball is kicked) from 36 feet into a goal which is 8 feet high and 24 feet wide.
Unless something happens beyond their control professional footballers should put them away without a problem

Are people serious!
Why this lazy, ineffectual tw@t hasnt been criticised is unbelievable. He was Fu*king shocking yesterday and should have been dragged off and been suspended for a month.
Shameful performance from a seasoned international. You want to single Carroll out for being sh'ite? Look at this sh'ithouse before you start mouthing off

Agree ,have been saying that for quite awhile. This boy wonder has done the minimum for our club during his years in Anfield. Everyone remembers his Chelsea goals but forgets the countless lethargic games he played. His Mentality isn't there and his football smarts has never existed. Yes he can Run and dribble at times but I can spot a "Babel" when i see one ,headless Donkey.

Kelly is a better defender then him and flano is brighter and more intelligent then he would ever dream to become.

He is an excellent Selling oppertunity as their are some which appriciate him for some bizzar reason.

The words "comfort zone" spring to mind.
Lucas used to get ripped for passing backwards but Johnson has made it a crucial part of his game. He is turning (if he hasnt already turned) into an imposter who is coasting through games and putting a shift in every so often, very much in the Pennant mode. Drop the cu'nt and give Kelly a go. What have we got to lose?

Have to agree on this.

Johnson and comfort zone.  Needs to sort himself out.

Move him to RM and bring in Martin Kelly at RB would be my suggestion. Unless we buy a right winger in the Jan window Johnson presents us with the best option at RM.
