Zidane wrote:Damn Glen, he's starting to become very very fragile.  Our top 2 RBs seem to be injury prone at the moment, Skrtel did really well against Bolton but he was pretty poor against Stoke we really need to get that right side settled it's been up and down so far this season.

Said it once will say it again our medical team should be replaced ,too many injuries ,too many players returning either too soon or getting injured as soon as they step back on the pitch ,this has been going on for years.

Someone needs to take a hard look at the physio and Medical Staff ,it just doesn't make sense.

I think this is the first time I've ever agreed with anything you've said on this forum. :D

We certainly do seem to have a history of rushing players back to early. It happened all the time with Torres and it's why we have to make extra care that Gerrard is 100% ready before we bring him back now aswell.

Sods law that going into the season right back was one of our strongest areas at the start of the season and now 4 games in we're down to Flanno in that area and nobody else. Sounds like Kelly should be back soon though so that's good news.

I thought Glen had a good game the other night, capped off with a superb finish. He's often been criticized on here by a few for his apparent lack of defending capabilities, I think this is a bit of a fallacy. His attacking game is good too, I couldn't disagree with Craig Burley when he said that he thinks Johnson is the best attacking fullback in the league.

I've always rated the lad especially during his West Ham days, obviously he's a fair bit older now and perhaps more susceptible to injuries, but a good player none the less.

Johnson has been one of the most disappointing players for me. He has undoubted talent which makes it all the more frustrating when he plays like he has done for the last year or so. I know hes had injuries but when hes been fit he has done virtually nothing for me but coasted through games. Thankfully, and hopefully he has turned the corner, regained his confidence and will start being the player he was when he first came here.
Fingers crossed...

People are really quiet about Glen when he's putting in world class performances one after another, funny that.

Johnson still only shows flashes of his talent. He can be very wasteful in front of goal.
That said he has been playing better the last moth or so

whoa, lets not go overboard.

He's been putting in the occasional good performance, but 'world class' is an exaggeration.  Don’t get me wrong, i like Glen and think he’s a good player. But he’s a long, long way to go before he justifies the 17 million we paid for him...and when you consider the time he’s been here then it’s a big ask

A RB isn't really going to be clinical in front of goal though, for me he's doing everything right he always provides an outlet and with Agger and Skrtel at the back he's marauding up and down the right flank at will.  He's always one of our most dangerous players no matter who is playing and plays a big part in our defense not letting any goals in at the back.  We have imo the best back 4 in the league arguably the best defense as well with the backups we have.. except at LB I guess.  We are heading in a really good direction everyone that plays a big part are either just hitting their prime or have their best years ahead of them.

Glen Johnson is easily one of our best players and has to be the most underated player in the squad, a lot of our fans dont seem to rate him which really baffles me considering some of the dross we currently emply. He's consisntent, has improved a lot defensively and is one of our best players going forward, him and Enrique have put our so called wingers to shame this year.

I agree he is Fullback ,but he is a terrible FB.
I think those odd goals (against Chelsea) won't be able to cover his overall poor performance since the beginning of the season and in fact since he signed for us.

The lad is just ,forgive my french ,stupid. His drawers are empty and he displays it almost every game he plays. He has a terrible perception of the ball speed and location. I would sell him as long as he still carries a high price tag.

fook me we have the tightest defence in the league and a stable back 4 of which Jonno has been a part of for the most part of the season and we still have people whinging. I despair I really do
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

I think somebody kidnapped your nick...Weren't you the guy that wrote a few posts up that his is a "big ask" and "long long" away from his price and you would be happy if he could "put a good cross"...Geez at least be consistent...

He is a RB that can't make a cross...Clueless i agree. :D
