but this year mate he is not the player he was, sky run a clip of him this year.....and at time he looked a right mess.
he has got away with some very bad mistakes untill the west ham game and then paid the price but in truth that could have happend in anouy of our games this year with with.....he is acting like torres did at the end of last season.

A Bit harsh...He is our best player this season. He did have some "accidents" but continue to produce unbelievable saves and overall confidence. Please consider that this season he needs to cover for a very shakey defence.

Lakes is right, he's had a very poor season by his standards and has let quite a few bad goals in. His head isn't 100% there I think and it has been very noticeable at times. I don't know if he's thinking it is time to move on or not but I know that it has crossed his mind for sure, especially after Torres left.

Many of you may disagree with me on this but, I'm not too concerned about Pepe leaving as long as we've found a replacement who is an above average stopper. I feel that to avoid letting in costly goals, the overall team performance and defence strategy especially have to be good. If the team strategy is weak and a shaky defence, then regardless of who is the keeper, goals will keep being conceded. Look at how many goals Pepe let in during the disastrous Hodgson tenure?

So if we continue to play like we did vs Man U and with effective defenders, then almost any above average PL keeper can do a decent job.

Bye bye Reina. All the best for the future but only if you don't join our PL rivals above us.

I am a like you on the topic and I make this statement ONLY if Pepe really wants to leave, which I am not yet convinced about.

If the player desperately wants to leave and we can get £20m for him then let him go. The keeper is an important position (clearly) and Pepe's communication is top class but there has to be keepers out there who we could snap up for £10M and then use the additional funds elsewhere.

almost all west ham fans are sure we will buy Green fron them in the summer.
i fear this as Green is not as good as he was a year or two ago.

Reina apparently said in an interview in the Guardian

“I am not announcing my departure – far from it. I’ve said lots of times I’m very happy in England and comfortable at Liverpool.

“But I’m not prepared to swear eternal love to anyone. That’s impossible. Any player who says that is lying.

Now whilst some of us may applaud his honesty it's still disappointing to discover that he's "very happy in England" but only "comfortable at Liverpool".

Seems to me that he's letting everyone including other premiership clubs know that he's quite prepared to consider other options.

Once Torres clues Pepe in on whats available for Spanish speaking people in London, clubs, restaurants etc etc (even Spanish film festivals) he'll be sorely tempted to look for a move down south, possibly Arsenal ?

Benitez said on TV or somewhere recently that Reina would be his first pick from the Liverpool team if he was to approach any of the them (not saying he would).

Saying that, i think that if Benitez got a manager's job at a Premier League club he would (depending on the club) make a move for Reina.

If he wants to go he should just hand in a transfer request at the end of the season. simples.

Although he is only young for a GK and should think very hard before joining other clubs.

Owen's career as a "top" player ended the day he left liverpool.
More recently, Mascherano has discovered the art of bench warming and Torres may be learning that joining a plastic club with lots of money, doesnt always make the grass greener.

I personally want him to stay but wont stress too much if he leaves.
