Yep. Wasn't himself today. Gave away a few silly free-kicks and didn't use the ball as well he normally does. I don't know whether it was the 100 mark hanging over him but if anything it should have inspired him.

Looked quite tired today. He had to play hard for Brazil as they went a man down early on.

thanks for the appology mate. i do agree he has played well in some games, that wasn't & isn't my main gripe with him-it's the fact that you have said it all for me with your post on his performance today-he's still giving away silly free kicks-& somtimes still in dangerous positions. but after his performance today it really comes down to CONSISTANCY. thats the main thing for me-when he does achieve this -i will be the first one to acknowledge it mate please believe me on that.

i just hope soon he gets those 2 parts of his game sorted-hopefully KK & co will work with him on these-cause that is my frustration with the Lad-only my opinion like.

Cheers mate. I can understand where you are coming from but for tonyeh to say 'back on form' fully illustrates my feelings on the matter. For one, when was the last time he could have said that? A year ago? It just underlines what I'm saying mate.

Yeah he wasn't good today maybe it was due to playing too many games lately but he was off and on a lot most of the match.  The whole team seemed out of sync right from the get go I felt.

They probably thought they only had to turn up today after their performances of late. Just shows you what an international break can do! They'd probably forgotten about all the hard work they'd put in to win 4 on the bounce. I'm sure it wont happen again for a while though! :)

He needed more help down the middle and didnt get it.. I though Poulsen should have started alongside Lucas to help keep possession better and press the opposition midfielders higher up but anyways...

I think this is the problem for me.
I dont trust him. He has played better this season, but he is prone to performances like yesterday. I really want him to succeed as Ive said before, but his lapses in concentration, or his inability to eradicate sloppy play from his game worry me.
For me he is average bordering on good and to compare him to Whelan is daft. I dont think he could lace Whelans boots and if you count up all the great performances he has given since hes been here I doubt if you would use up all the fingers on one hand.
He is improving but we need a great player in the position he currently holds to lift us up to where we want to be

It's funny but Kenny was in one of the rags yesterday comparing him to Whelan!

No, I don't think so, I do think we looked light weight in the middle as Meireles and Lucas aren't the type of midfield who add some steel to the side. I agree with Ace, maybe if Poulsen started along side him we would have seen a more balanced midfield, because Poulsen is the type of midfielder who can play it simple and add a bit of steel to the side in terms of his physical approach.

Ive been saying for a year now he could become or Whelan, to be fair no ones ever took the :censored: out of what ive said but its good to hear Kenny say the same.

Felt sorry for him yesterday as although he played better as the game went on he didnt play as good as he has been for a while now (not just 4 games) I always feel sorry for him because i know as soon as he has a bad game every Lucas haters will crucify him.

He gives silly free-kicks away, yeh so what every player asked to do his job does. He doesnt do the hollywod pass, so what neither does Gerrard anymore not for the want of trying. What Lucas does is keep it simple keeps possesion and keeps the momentum going. He doesnt score enough, hes a DM its not a striker or AM so this shouldnt be an issue.

Hope he keeps up the hard work
