I talk to a few season ticket holders and in general they recognise that rafas time was up but are sort of bitter about the affair, but Roys support has gone.  Everyone is hoping that the next appointment will be a good one.  He has no support left.

This doesnt mean its Rafa back just get rid of that loon

I have constantly said I wont defend the indefencible. I have agreed that he has lost the ability to motivate the players.
However are you seriously telling me that all those 14 over paid so called professional athletes couldnt string 2 passes together and have more than 1 shot at goal no matter who the manager was?
What the fu'ck are we paying them so much money for? Why do we idolise these retarded rich boys who cannot even play for their own pride or the supporters who pay these extortionate amounts only to be sh'it on?

You are right in what you are saying thommo  but doesn't that tell you there is something seriously wrong ,that those 14 players(not 1or 2) cannot and do not look like a team that can play together or pass to one another or create a chance . It tells me everything about the manager .

The players last night were a disgrace but it is the manager who gets it in the neck, thats football folks.

442 with Mereiles on the right and Kuyt on the LEFT :oh:

Breaking up Lucas and Mereiles who had looked good.

I love SG but wouldnt put him straight back in the middle afte he had been injured.  Proven to work with Torres and the Mereiles Lucas duo proven to work.  WHY stop that.

Agger on the bench when it was obvious that we werent passing from the back just hoofing to their defence

Why have Aurelio who is naturally left footed replace Konchesky when he could have gone in midfield.  Surely no players were tired after two weeks off

Cole in central midfield :help

It goes on and on

I cannot just blame the manager for that display. Anyone who just blames Hodgson for that last night is deluded.
There was nothing from any of them except the greek who was at least trying.
That was a team who wasnt in the slightest bit ar'sed that they were making complete cu'nts out of themselves, and us last night.

Liverpool legend Phil Neal has turned on manager Roy Hodgson over his criticism of Anfield supporters.

In the aftermath of Wednesday's calamitous loss at home to Wolves, Hodgson claimed "the famous Anfield support hasn't really been there" since he became manager and added: "I have to hope the fans will become supporters because we need support."

But Neal told Talksport: "Hodgson could rue saying those words about the fans.

"Against Wolves there was 90 minutes without a shot on goal, no pressure, and no excitement for the fans. And that's down to the players and down to Hodgson.

"We couldn’t believe what we we were seeing. We didn’t put any pressure on Wolves. There was no cohesion and no-one looked as they were enjoying playing.

"We didn’t look a team and that’s the frightening thing.

"Shankly and Paisley would have been turning in their graves to see that pathetic team effort."
"When you walk, through a storm, hold your head up high"

OK
But is it too much to ask for a bit of passion or pride? A sense that they want to show the fans that even if the manager is a w@ker at least they will try their best for the fans?
I am probably asking too much but I dont think its alot to ask for from highly paid professionals.
I watched it again and Im so disappointed that our best players are the biggest culprits

aken from the Guardian.

Pass and move, it's the Liverpool groove? Not any more. The Hodgson way is more hoof and pray. As endless long punts were hammered towards Fernando Torres and David Ngog during last night's defeat to Wolves, it became increasingly impossible to justify Roy Hodgson lasting at Anfield beyond the end of the week. Patience has its virtues, and chairmen can be trigger-happy, but it is hardly compulsory; Hodgson's time is up. He simply has to go. Forget about giving him extra time and the chance to dip into the transfer market in January. Trust has to be earned and Hodgson has failed. Liverpool are perched three points above the bottom three. Losing to Northampton Town, Blackpool and Wolves at Anfield in the space of six months, no matter what financial constraints Hodgson has had to work under, is a grotesque underachievement for a club of Liverpool's elevated standing.

For all his complaints about the situation he inherited from Rafael Benítez, Hodgson took over a squad containing Pepe Reina, Jamie Carragher, Javier Mascherano, Steven Gerrard, Dirk Kuyt and Torres. Granted, he lost Mascherano to Barcelona but he also willingly parted with Alberto Aquilani, while bringing in the laughable pair of Paul Konchesky and Christian Poulsen. Although Liverpool were average last season, they still finished seventh. With the players at his disposal, Hodgson has introduced an ugly, negative route-one style, which last night saw the defence bypassing the midfield with alarming regularity.

These tactics might have sufficed at Fulham, but then Hodgson has often appeared dumbfounded by the level of expectation at Anfield. Not only is this approach unforgivable against Wolves, who were bottom of the table before the game and had amassed just one point on their travels all season, it is hopelessly misguided considering the players at Hodgson's disposal. Torres is not exactly Kevin Davies – he needs the ball played to feet or for him to run on to. He will never beat the likes of Christophe Berra in the air. Torres is a world-class striker being forced to operate like a lower-league journeyman, even if his form has been at that standard since the summer.

While Liverpool's players must take some responsibility too, clearly Hodgson has lost the dressing room, if he ever had it in the first place. Under Benítez, when Liverpool were losing games at Anfield, teams would brace themselves for the inevitable barrage as they defended their goal at the Kop End, waiting for Gerrard to pop up with a jaw-dropping equaliser. Last night there was nothing. With Wolves, whose sparky, attractive style of play belied their lowly position, required to do the bare minimum, dissent grew among the home supporters. Afterwards Hodgson was critical of the fans, questioning where the "famous support" had gone. He sounded like an away fan mocking a subdued home crowd about the lack of atmosphere. It almost appears as if he is getting his shots in early. Liverpool's supporters already disliked Hodgson. This will be seen as a step too far.

I like you was unfortunate to lay out some hard earned.. on watching that display mate ..and yes the players have all but surrendered to the fact we our completely rudderless ,and their collective performances in the realization of this ,have been what could be described as shameless ....however even after our completely shambolic first half ,the players  still returned to the field devoid of any instruction surely they should have left that dressing room with the sting of some serious home truths still ringing in their assaulted ear drums ..... ?

RBG I aint arguin anymore. I have said my piece and agree he must go. We are entering a dark time as I have said and I believe things will get worse before they get better. I hope Im wrong but the way those players performed last night fills me with dread for the next manager, whoever he is.
