Depending on who you listen to he is an owl faced, boring arl, negative, small minded, small club, middle of the table out of his depth, cant win an away game gobsh'ite. The truth is he has never been given a fair crack of the whip and has been under immense pressure from day one for reasons well documented on here. Every phone in and chat show now has the same theme: how long will he survive? There have been varying interpretations of everything anyone with an opinion has said and all with the same outcome: he has to go.
The only doubt remaining is when. I dare say it will not matter if he does qualify for the CL or win a cup. Those with the loudest voices have now got the support of the sheep among us and Hodgsons mistakes, errors and virtually every trivial thing he does has now become a weapon against him or evidence to prove why the doubters are right.
Who should replace him? Not Kenny, who has been out of management for far too long and has a history of bailing when hes had enough. Definitely not Benitez who is busy fighting his own demons and attempting without much success at the moment to rebuild his tarnished reputation.
So who is this messiah who will wave his wand and turn sh'it into gold for us? Whoever he is he will have to wait until next season because I dont believe the owners will sack Roy unless it becomes clear that they have to
you shouldnt allow yourself to get so worked up defending roy.
yes every phone in,forum and chat show are on roys back slating his tactics and abilities and credentials.that comes with being the manager of a top club and is part of the parcel, especially when the results arent being delivered.
the players cop stick also for lacklustre performances and rightly so but the buck ultimately stops with the gaffer.
last year was disastrous, the club imploded, manager and board members at war and benitez allowed this to affect his performances and got the boot, the ship needed steadying we were told until the club got sold, they appointed roy as an interim manager.
6 mths in and the players are still underperforming, results are terrible, league position is unacceptable and the performances are absolutely dire.there is little or no improvement under roy.
kenny has been out of management for a while yes,but not out of football.the man is a winner as a player and a manager and that is something you never forget.maybe an older wiser kenny is what we need.
not sure who the new messiah will be but what i am sure of is that if he has us serving up the same sh1t the fans will call for his head too.it's fickle but thats football for you.
hodgson never got the full support of the fans because they felt that his away record would be poor,he was negative, small minded and out of his depth.
so far there isnt enough evidence to prove fans wrong.
