his tactics need to change though mate. It cant be a coincidence how many points we are dropping away from home.

true, but we are changing tactics, hes trying different things. doesnt help we only got one striker, and he dont wanna play for us. there are many more factors than just the manager.. but we get the same moaning :censored: week in week out, just gets boring.

i was watching the game at the pub, and when we lost i just knew some posters would be sharpening the knives, almost happy wed lost again... just depressing. no one wants to lose but a lot needs changing, and he eneds january to sign a new striker, as weve seen he can do some good as well

some people are quick to jump on the manager when it isnt justified at times.
But i do think we play too deep in away games. The whole first half i was saying to my son that we are 20 yards too deep and inviting pressure.
We shouldnt be doing that against sides that we are better than.
Also Kuyt should have been taken off as early as possible, his performance followed on from his Villa one where he was totally out of sorts.

Lots needs changing, from players to manager decisions to tactics to it all. At least we got amanager we know can change things around and isnt as stubborn as some could be. yesterday was a setback no doubt, but hardly the end of the world

At the end of the day Roy can't play the game. A lot of the squad is made up of talented players lacking back bone and passion.

The squad needs a total revamp.  Not a lot to be optimistic about in the short term......

exactly. i actually can't believe i heard that from a liverpool manager.

I think what some have not pointed out is that Rafa with a much better team than Roy had last year only got 5 more points in away games then Roy did last year.

its not the managers fault unless he happens to be loathed like previous managers is that correct ?  .... you can understand me just clarifying that cant you ? ... I knew it wouldn't be Roy's fault how could that be  possible , I mean for the first few away games he could only have seen his face in his shoes   how could he have had any influence on the players turgid cowardly  play if he didn't look up long enough   :)
Listen I think the game away at St James will be a true measure of whether we have progressed, and the manager is actually capable of  changing  his stubborn approach to games and sustaining the attacking philosophy used at Spurs consistently  ..... I also believe  the fact there still  exists a feeling of apprehension amongst the supporters ,  whenever an away game is on the horizon is testament to the lack of any trust in the managers ability to actually improve us ..............  6 wins ,4 draws,6,losses and we have conceded 13 goals away from home .... lets just say its hardly the points tally of a upwardly mobile club ...so before everyone gets a tad over excited lets not forget where we are and where for that matter to our abject horror we have  been ,and while your about it think of who took us to them depths and why .... then think of who we are and the quality of player we should be attracting ...then think of Poulson and Konchesky these are the players the manager deems good enough for this great club .......
I actually think the football is coming together and the team is starting to take shape ... but if its colours nailed firmly to the mast that your looking for then look no further .... I simply don't trust the man and he's burnt far too many bridges this season ... and for that reason alone the gap between him and fans is simply too vast to try to mend ... and every minute he spends at this great club is simply 55 seconds too much ......
too brutally honest ......what do  you think ?
If Roy manages the miracle of winning the match going  fans over, then he can truly covet that result more than winning the prestigious  LMA  :) in fact you can place that on a par with the parting of the Red Sea in terms of miracles

Apologies for the Quote ,but ...................
I think I said my piece here ....haven't got the heart or the inclination to explain away yet another  defeat away from home

Because we were sh*t under Rafa doesnt mean its Ok to be sh*t under Hodgson though Lakes - in fact we changed the manager because performances wernt good enough last season. Its staggering how sooner or later every discussion on here ends up as Roy vs Rafa. Simples, he needs to get these away day performances sorted as of NOW, or else he will be heading out the Shankly gates with his P45 before August and the start of 11/12. Top 6 is a minimum requirement here. No Europe means bon voyage IMO. We've seen glimpses that he can get it right, sadly they are usually followed by a big bag of awful, and Im not putting the blame soley of his shoulders because some of the players have not exactly been covering themselves in glory and aint doing him any favours

thats the biggest problem we are having on the forum. The ones most vocal against Roy and also the ones most pro Rafa. So we're looknig at what they are saying, thinking they want Rafa back... me included thining that.

I should be intelligent enough to know they want whats best for the club, they dont want Rafa back but they think we deserve better than Roy, which is perfectly fine to think.

Im just perplexed why our away form is so poor when he must see what we CAN do when needed.

Why are you even bringing up Rafa? This thread is not about Rafa it's about Roy.

The guy is out of his depth, a few wins (which we would have won under anyone as we usually pull out a good performance or 2 when we play the big sides) and people seem to think we have turned a corner and Roy is not as inept as everyone says.

Newsflash, Roy is :censored: and what's worse he is trying to lower the expectations of the club and fans. I hope Kenny or someone is having words with Henry on the side.

So you hope someone had words to get rid of Rafa last season?

Double f*cking standards non stop.

But this season Roy will be able to change, he is not as stubborn, which is why we are better off with him than we were with Rafa

Yeah ok we are better off with someone whos away wins you can count on 1 hand compared to someone who has won the biggest trophey in club football not to mention league titles in spain breaking the real barca dominance. Rafa's worst season with us is probably a :censored: wet dream for Roy mate. Better off, that's a good one mate. Stick that in the joke thread.  :D
