haps wrote:The most worrying thing Roy Hodgson said after yesterday's game was that it wasn't good enough for a team that aspires to be in the 'top-half of the table'. Now, I'm paraphrasing a bit but that was what he said. I think Roy still thinks he's at Fulham. THE TOP HALF OF THE TABLE??

its not the managers fault unless he happens to be loathed like previous managers is that correct ? .... you can understand me just clarifying that cant you ? ... I knew it wouldn't be Roy's fault how could that be possible , I mean for the first few away games he could only have seen his face in his shoes how could he have had any influence on the players turgid cowardly play if he didn't look up long enough![]()
Listen I think the game away at St James will be a true measure of whether we have progressed, and the manager is actually capable of changing his stubborn approach to games and sustaining the attacking philosophy used at Spurs consistently ..... I also believe the fact there still exists a feeling of apprehension amongst the supporters , whenever an away game is on the horizon is testament to the lack of any trust in the managers ability to actually improve us .............. 6 wins ,4 draws,6,losses and we have conceded 13 goals away from home .... lets just say its hardly the points tally of a upwardly mobile club ...so before everyone gets a tad over excited lets not forget where we are and where for that matter to our abject horror we have been ,and while your about it think of who took us to them depths and why .... then think of who we are and the quality of player we should be attracting ...then think of Poulson and Konchesky these are the players the manager deems good enough for this great club .......
I actually think the football is coming together and the team is starting to take shape ... but if its colours nailed firmly to the mast that your looking for then look no further .... I simply don't trust the man and he's burnt far too many bridges this season ... and for that reason alone the gap between him and fans is simply too vast to try to mend ... and every minute he spends at this great club is simply 55 seconds too much ......
too brutally honest ......what do you think ?
If Roy manages the miracle of winning the match going fans over, then he can truly covet that result more than winning the prestigious LMAin fact you can place that on a par with the parting of the Red Sea in terms of miracles

Because we were sh*t under Rafa doesnt mean its Ok to be sh*t under Hodgson though Lakes - in fact we changed the manager because performances wernt good enough last season. Its staggering how sooner or later every discussion on here ends up as Roy vs Rafa. Simples, he needs to get these away day performances sorted as of NOW, or else he will be heading out the Shankly gates with his P45 before August and the start of 11/12. Top 6 is a minimum requirement here. No Europe means bon voyage IMO. We've seen glimpses that he can get it right, sadly they are usually followed by a big bag of awful, and Im not putting the blame soley of his shoulders because some of the players have not exactly been covering themselves in glory and aint doing him any favours

and what's worse he is trying to lower the expectations of the club and fans. I hope Kenny or someone is having words with Henry on the side.bavlondon wrote:lakes10 wrote:I think what some have not pointed out is that Rafa with a much better team than Roy had last year only got 5 more points in away games then Roy did last year.
Why are you even bringing up Rafa? This thread is not about Rafa it's about Roy.
The guy is out of his depth, a few wins (which we would have won under anyone as we usually pull out a good performance or 2 when we play the big sides) and people seem to think we have turned a corner and Roy is not as inept as everyone says.
Newsflash, Roy isand what's worse he is trying to lower the expectations of the club and fans. I hope Kenny or someone is having words with Henry on the side.

So you hope someone had words to get rid of Rafa last season?
Double f*cking standards non stop.
But this season Roy will be able to change, he is not as stubborn, which is why we are better off with him than we were with Rafa
wet dream for Roy mate. Better off, that's a good one mate. Stick that in the joke thread.
