But for me, although it was a great achievement getting to Athens, he totally fu'cked it up with his team selection and tactics. I honestly believe it was easier to win than Istanbul but he couldnt help himself. This has been pointed out before that he was a slave to his ego and unable to change his ways.
I belive that although we did have some great times in europe, in the cold light of day he couldnt cut it in the league, and no matter how much money he was given, he never would have made us Premier champions. I think he knew it himself in the end

I've lived the glory day's aswell mate ,but since 1991 it's been cack until houllier and then rafa turned our club into a european force once again . We are going over a well trodden path regarding the supposed millions rafa spent so what i'll suggest is that we agree to disagree on that front . I have my firm beliefs and and you have your on that . All i will say is that when the man eventually writes his autobiography all will be out in the open then . We will be able to discuss the background shenannigans abit better then .

One thing i will admit to is that Rafa took his eye of the ball last season and the politicts at the club suffocated him and his management of the team . I would have liked to have seen someone else do better under the circumstances .

Agreed.
But I take no pleasure in Benitezes downfall because I realise, unlike others, that if our manager doesnt succeed then we dont succeed.
Whether he took his eye off the ball because of the politics or his own inabiliy to just concentrate on his job may all be revealed in his autobiography. But I wont just take his word for it as Im sure he will probably be slightly biased

FACT the current manager gets feck all abuse compared to what rafa got . I wouldn't want him anywhere near the place , He deserves to be remembered as the man who made us part of the european elite again , the man who got us to 2 champions league finals winning one , champions league semi's and quarters . Our best ever total in the premership finishing second and the man who outed the two c.unts of owners we had . FA cup winners and proud supporters once again . Feck him he was :censored: though cos he had one sh!te season .

We are lucky we got feckin Roy instead though hey . Bollox to those saying he left the current manager with :censored: , it was for the most part the same squad that finished second the season before last . The man brought all of us some of the best nights of our lives and youse write it off like it means nothing , boo feckin hoo we finished  7th last season .So what ,so f.uckin what . ONE  BAD SEASON YOU GAVE HIM ,one bad season ffs .

Well now that we are back to are best and capable of beating the mancs 4-1 at there place , madrid 5-1 on aggregate , barca at there gaff , juventus , inter .We can look forward to a long and fruitful season under Roy (Do yer reckon). YOUSE MUST BE SO PROUD .

Well said Igor...  :)

Not AC Milan. Not Inter, I could go on and on. He put US back to number 1. Teams wanted to avoid us like the plague. We were on the verge of greatness with the man a few seasons back. The sh*t we are seeing at the moment is a direct result of the two c*nts we recently outted, and yes, Roy is a remnant of their reign.

Loved the way as ER said he put us back into the hunt for greatness.

Sorry to see him go especially with owner situation and thought it was a foolish decision.

That being said, its time for a new era so answer is no

HE had loads of time and money after instanbul and just look at the dross of a squad hes left us with. And the rafa lovers have the cheek to blame the new manager after a few months when lets be honest the squad is a joke.

Post pics up of him in a waiter outfit and daft songs taking the p!ss out of him.

No seriously, IF he came back he would have my support.

I would be gutted though to be honest. When we change manager we need to move forwards and not look back.

Rocky comes out swinging with another comment with no other purpose that to 100% flame this thread. Son have a word with yourself, do you honestly think the way tensions are on this forum atm that little ditty will do anything but p*ss people royally off?
