Certainly not Kenny, because as much as I love the man for what he did for LFC, he is, was and probably always will be a quitter (history books show this) and he has been too long out of the game anyway. So, who else is there? Who is this magic-wand waving miracle worker with divine powers who will come into this disastrous, once great, split-fan based club and drag it off its knees and back onto its feet? Because, looking at that performance from those players, we need a superman not a mere mortal to make us great again.

Can I interject before the former manager's name gets dragged into this.

Might be worth quoting that paragraph nanny posted earlier.

On the radio on the way home from the match I heard pundits and "fans" alike lining up to use that totally invalid excuse. Not saying it's full of quality, but ffs 7 of yesterdays team played in the 4-1 drubbing of Manu and the massacre of Real Madrid.  Of the other 4 I think it's ackowledged that the Greek was a good buy on a shoestring budget, Konchesky and the Raul are Hodgons buys, so that just leaves Maxi - so it must be him who's making us play so :censored: No chance it's the manager, it's Rafa's  squad.
-------

S@int At what point does the responsability fall under the present manager?

Mate I dont want to argue about the previous manager. I had a massive argument last night after the game with a mate and it nearly came to blows. I will accept that some see Benitez as the victim and blameless for the siuation were in. But I am not one of those people. This is Roys team from Benitezes legacy. Its not an excuse it is a FACT. How much of an influence the former manager has had on the current team is debatable, but again, it is a FACT.
What I will agree with is that we cant keep using it as the main reason for our failings on the pitch. We need superman to sort it and quick.

Do us a favour mate read his post and tell me how you would feel
because to say it pours derision on supporters would be an understatement

Yes but just because you go to matches shouldnt make you free from criticism. I know plenty of match going supporters who talk absolute sh'ite.
Everyone is open to criticism. Even the manager...
:nod[/quote]
I agree Thommo ... although that's not a first is it ? I believe we agreed on Pete Price also  :D  no in all seriousness you are spot on Lad

Is he still here?

What concerns me is what we NEED now is a strong Capello style of character to get the squad focused and give 100%, the maturity to convice the club an supporters that we can compete and the status to attract the right players come a very important january transfer window.

The reality is if Roy stays we must lumber on in agony but even if the new owners boot him out, their prefered style is to bring in a young, upandcoming replacement who likes statistics with no known success record as yet to replace him.

So the encumbent is wrong and I fear the owners replacement policy is wrong as well. This is not the time for Owen Coyle to walk into our changing room and convert water into wine. Its difficult to see a way forward as if we go with the owners, such a manager would ned 3 seasons to find his way.

No we need someone who is strong enough to make the right changes for each match rather than blindly picking the same team after a couple of good results or picking kids in Europe for the sake of it. Woy isn't the man to oversee the changes required to make us great again he's already proved that.

I think the problem re: hodgson now are the two main factions that are ruining the forum. And we're stubborn.

Me, Mick and Thommo are too pro Roy. In reality Roy is mucking up

Cigs, RBG nan and Bav are too anti Roy. Even after the Cheatski there was hardly a well dnoe.

Its getting to the point where we're taking too far sided views, not being rational on either side.

Rationally, Roy is maknig a fair few mistakes. Some of us think he deserves the season to see what he can do. Others think he should never have got the job, thats all fair enough. Its just that its gone past making sense and just become a slagging off match...

Of course in between all the emotion there are wums just stirring, feeding off the arguaments. but we gotta stop and think.

If youlike or dont like, we all (me included) need to step back, and think what we're saying.

My own view? I just dont know. i cant see what we really did wrong eysterday that we differently last season? We cant blame Roy for Skyrtel climbing over players but if roy gets the applause for a good tactical win, so he should get some blame for the loss. I dunno what we need, mroe attacking, more drive, more actually giving a sh!t about wearing the jersey. And better tactics, better players, the list is gonna go on and on

RBG and sabre make great points, Roy needs to know hes managing a big club now. he needs the confidence to kick the cr@p outta other teams like we know we can, but also the league is a tough league, and its showing on all teams

Exactly
We need a GREAT manager not a good one. And even if we do get him it will take time.
Those who believe this person will turn things around in a couple of games are deluded. He would have to be superman, like I have said.

Nice to see youve stopped drinking Reggie

I fully support him while he is here in the way I want him to win every game, but that's because I love LFC not because I think he is the man for the job.You can support the manger but you can also be realistic and say he is not good enough, cause he is not.
We have played well in 3 games under Roy..Arsenal,UTD and Chelsea...now it does not take a genius to understand that these 3 games are self motivators for players, the managers job here is easy...pick 11 players and occasion delivers the passion....no big team talk or tactical genius required!

In the rest of our games we have been terrible,it's not an exaggeration to say we are playing terrible football(probably amongst the worst in the league)....it's hard to watch!

The club is just too big for the man,he is way out of his depth and under pressure!FFS every time they put the camera on him and ask a few questions he is like a rabbit caught in headlights,he falls apart and says something daft!

I would like to hear why people think he is up to the job.....what he has done so far to earn more time...what they can see that I can't!
Cause simply put,the fact that he is our manager is not enough.

HE could be dangerous for our future.Look at it this way NESV could hand him say £80million at the end of the season..we could finish in the bottom half near the bottom 3 maybe...what quality player would say....."oh I want to go and help Roy with the LFC revival" when UTD,City,Chelsea,Spurs etc are waving money at them too......I can't think of many!

Also the old Rafa left him a sh'it squad excuse does not wash either....OK granted it was not as good as UTD,City etc but he has better players available than most teams in the League....certainly a squad that should be doing better than having Played 13,won 4,drew,lost 5!!

He has to go ASAP...he is getting NOTHING from the players!!

Barry where you been mate? You don't post too much these days.

This place annoys me now! :D

Everyone is saying if ya support Roy its because you hated Rafa and if you want Roy out its because you loved Rafa....it's sh'ite!

what about the ones that did not like Rafa but dont like Roy that much lol.....i dont think i have a camp to sit in right now lol

I must digress  Reg I think Owen Coyle is an ambitious manager who will use Bolton as a stepping stone in his career as he done Burnley .... Bolton as they are now are playing some pretty impressive attacking football when the occasion demands it ,but they can also mix it up when they need to and can be aggressive and hard to beat ...Coyle would be my ideal choice to come in as manager ...he knows the Premiership now, and is another hard nosed Jock who will make the dressing room and training ground his own .... plus I can see this Guy usurping Taggart at the Mancs........  unless we snap him up

We need an overhaul, starting from zero, not this season, but next.

Start fresh, get a young manager who has fresh new ideas and great managerial ability, I don't care who, I just need someone who can motivate the players. Ship out all that :censored: we have, and keep the key players.

NESV look like they are the beez neez, Soon we will be great, we just need to be patient

What about us that were pro Rafa, happy to give Roy a chance but realise he isnt up to the job but dont want a hasty axe as we want right man for the job putting back where we should be next season.
