Babel shouldn't play for LFC ever again...

The main headline on our site of cole being out for 2 weeks has been taken down and now they are saying that he is not ruled out of the chelsea game as it is a 7-0 day injury.

Every time I imagine our 1st eleven or upgrading the squad I struggle to find anywhere to fit Joe Cole, thats troubling

he's going to have to play on the flank. That's his best position and i'd start him on the left every week.

The thing Kewell is Id love to see us bring a genuine winger on the left hand side, someone whod burst past fullbacks for fun and have every defender scard to push too far forward. If you have Cole and Kuyt they tend too drop inside alot and dont really attack their markers. I still think Riera was a reasonable success at the club simply becasuse we looked a more formidable attacking unit when he played in that style. Cole while having a few tricks and feints isnt really a player to take men on.

roy has a selection dilemma now which can only be a good thing. there's no guarantee that cole will walk back into the starting eleven when fit.

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has confirmed midfielder Joe Cole should be fit and available for selection for Sunday's trip to Tottenham.

The former Chelsea playmaker has been missing since sustaining a hamstring injury in the Reds' 1-0 win at Bolton.

Cole has missed the club's last four Premier League matches, including Saturday's 3-0 win against former club West Ham.

With Steven Gerrard and Lucas currently unavailable, the return of Cole from injury comes as a welcome boost for Hodgson.

He said: "Joe should be back for Sunday. We were hoping he would be back to face West Ham, but it has taken that little bit longer.

"Joe is not that far away really, so hopefully he will have recovered in time for Tottenham.

"Hamstring injuries are tricky and I'm afraid we can only rely on what the sports science people tell us, and if they say he needs more time we just have to wait."

Well, Cole has been the underwhelming transfer of the year.
Injured all the time, isn't producing, on inflated wages and seem to have his starting place guaranteed as soon as he is fit.

The problem "burjennio" is that those type of players are

1) hard to find
2) expensive
3) needed to fit into the managers playing style.

You need to give such a player a little more leeway to let him flourish. Unless you have such a manager his talents will come to waste anyway.

I agree Penguin that to be a top winger these days you need to be blessed with an abundance of just about everything, but hopefully thats where are new director of football strategy will be able to deliver a young lad that can develop into a world beater rather than us having to shelve out £30m for a proven name who could easily fail in a different league. Messi was discovered young and Barca spared no expense in giving him every chance to be a superstar. C Ronaldo was a big gamble for Utd when the bought him at £15m odd from S Lisbon - the lad obviously had potential and natural talent but it doesnt always evolve into a Ballon D'or winning footballer, case in point sadly for use being Ryan Babel.

we should stick cole behind torres and infront of stevie and mielres and give him freedom to express himself and hurt the opposition through the middle because regardless of how hes played so far hes still a brilliant player when hes on form but his injuries have taken a few yards off him and he struggles to go past the outside of a player now
