only thing is, if Kenny takes charge and we dont improve at all will people rally around and witch hunt Kenny out too? ???

Only if he's as much of an ar$ehole as Roy is, which of course we all know he isn't.
Kenny probably would not be the long term solution but interim until we can get a good long term manager on board I think he would do a great job. Torres looks up to him as do the Liverpool lads and I'd be gob smacked if the entire squad are far behind in their admiration, plus we know that he can manage at a high level.

Obsessed you lad.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

What does Cara mean by this? Sounds a strange comment to make, as if Hodgson is trying to impress the players rather than commanding their respect as he should be.

Maybe just a flipant comment that i've mis-read.

whats he saiyng now Bav, about Rooney

It's the full quote from the Torres bit but it all sounds like he is more interested in keeping his friendship with Fergie than saying what's right for Lfc.

Enough is enough.

"When a great player like Wayne Rooney is looking to leave his club, then you know Manchester United will be in a position to target a lot of players around the world. I don't think Fernando will be the only striker they target - and I don't think we will be the only club worried that their striker is in their sights.
'I am not naive enough to believe that there won't be any danger and we will never lose a player like Torres. I understand these things can happen. I don't believe we will lose him".
---

Youre angry because hes telling the truth? Right...?
???

My problem with his comments are that they were not needed.
He didnt even have to say he is not for sale.

We have Rooney coming out yesterday and saying he is leaving as he has been given no assurances about key players coming in to united.
So if i was Roy and was asked about Torres i would have laughed and said we have just had new owners that are taking our club forward.
Why would Torres want to join our rivals that now appear to be a selling club ?

And then leave it at that.

Guys,

These are simply not issues for Woy to express an opinion on.

The manager should seek direction from the board on these issues then give the company view. Its not Woy's club, he's not the boss and he doesn't 'own' a player. So why is he creating doubt?

Procedure guys, procedure.

That seems to be the way of football these days.  The manager has to prove himself to players or they won't play.

FWIW, i do have a tiny bit of sympathy for Roy.  From day 1 he was trying to convince our star players to stay at Liverpool and play them in their preferred positions.

The next manager is going to have to say "if you want to leave Liverpool...then get the fudge out!".

Which is what I said Reg. He has been let down by not being clued up by someone at the club about how things are done here.
I know we will have the owl brigade saying he should know what to say blah blah blah. But like you said, we have a procedure at this club where we want our managers to be economical with the truth or not say anything at all.

stmichael wrote:his position is untenable now imo. can't see him being here in 48 hours time. infact i've heard he's already offered his resignation.

Really?

I have to admit to have been in a position of giving him a chance and am amazed at the speed with which the net is closing around him to be honest. I do think it is getting to untenable status and the sooner the better I guess.

The Torres comment was the last straw for me. The message that sends to Torres himself is enough. If the boss isnt' willing to fight for me, then why should I be bothered.

Shocking

You might even start to draw parallels between the Alonso 'will he/wont he' situation and Nando now. :(
