whats he saiyng now Bav, about Rooney

It's the full quote from the Torres bit but it all sounds like he is more interested in keeping his friendship with Fergie than saying what's right for Lfc.

Enough is enough.

"When a great player like Wayne Rooney is looking to leave his club, then you know Manchester United will be in a position to target a lot of players around the world. I don't think Fernando will be the only striker they target - and I don't think we will be the only club worried that their striker is in their sights.
'I am not naive enough to believe that there won't be any danger and we will never lose a player like Torres. I understand these things can happen. I don't believe we will lose him".

Alongside all the other reasons I cited that he should go, the latest $*i*e to come from his mouth deals the deal.

I am f**king raging.  The correct answer Roy is "He is NOT for sale to MU or anybody, end of story".

You do not give your whisky drinking mate an open f**king door to come and take our best player.

He has demonstrated again that he has NO IDEA about our club, no concept of our "relationship" with MU, and just needs to leave TODAY.

He can take Poulsen and Konchelsky with him too.

Shocking performance by someone who should know better with all his "experience".

HE HAS TO GO!

i get the feeling he is becoming public enemy no 1, people are getting abusive towards him and with good reason.

only thing is, if Kenny takes charge and we dont improve at all will people rally around and witch hunt Kenny out too? ???

Yeah I saw those, it beggars belief the thing he has come out with. The one about Northampton being formidable opposition was the worst. Rafa oozes class, Roy is just an old wanna be has been.

My problem with his comments are that they were not needed.
He didnt even have to say he is not for sale.

We have Rooney coming out yesterday and saying he is leaving as he has been given no assurances about key players coming in to united.
So if i was Roy and was asked about Torres i would have laughed and said we have just had new owners that are taking our club forward.
Why would Torres want to join our rivals that now appear to be a selling club ?

And then leave it at that.

Carra says the spirit is fine.  I disagree!

But Carragher said it was important there was a collective effort.

"It is very early days in the season and there is a lot of time to go," he said.

"It hasn't always been rosy playing for Liverpool. Last season wasn't great and I remember going 12 games without a win under Gerard Houllier, so it has not always been plain sailing.

"It is a little rocky patch we are going through at the moment but as long as the players, manager and supporters all stick together it won't be a problem.

"The spirit in the dressing room is fine but you don't have to be a rocket scientist to work out if you win games it is a lot better.

"The manager is the boss and we should be trying to impress him, not the other way around."

Carragher will captain the side in tonight's Europa League Group K match against Napoli in the Stadio San Paolo after Steven Gerrard, Fernando Torres, Raul Meireles and Lucas Leiva were left at home to rest.

Hodgson defended his decision to place more priority on Sunday's Premier League game at home to Blackburn but Carragher said it was important to rotate players, especially those who have had injury problems.

"Steven and Fernando are not here but you have to understand that these days it is a long season and you need a big squad and they are players that have played through summers for years on end," he added.

"Stevie also played through the international break and if you continued with him and Fernando they would eventually break down and you'd complain about that.

"The club are treating them in the right way, physically, and hopefully that will prove right towards the end of the season."

Spot on

For a manager under so much pressure and to come out with those comments is really inconceivable. Especially now with new owners , what the hell was he thinking

Yap, I agree, there are way too many fixtures and rotation is needed.

That is why we skipped the League Cup and we will probably do the same with the FA cup - two less competitions to be bothered with. Ditto UEFA Cup or whatever it is called today.

Mind you if we keep going at the same rate, we will have a lot more games to play next season - the Championship has 26 teams, right ?

his position is untenable now imo. can't see him being here in 48 hours time. infact i've heard he's already offered his resignation.

Kind of irratates me seeing Gerrard/Carra acting like his bodyguards.
They surely feel partly responsible for his appointment.
