the new owners didn't spend 300m on LFC to say "oh let's just stick with the current manager", they will be have somebody seeing who is out there, and as we now have more money to get a top manager, we can get one. The new guy will be here in December and then given a lot of money in January.

From a business point of view, the only way to make back their money is to be in CL every year so they will have to spend.

As mourinho has his  dream job, I can't think of anyone that great out there

NESV could well see dismissing the manager as a statement of intent that they will not accept second best and are here to win and anyone that under performs will be out. Hodgson is on very shaky ground and by looks of him he damn well knows it. To be fair he knew it all along but in his worst nightmares he could never have envisaged a start like this, not for one moment. Somehow hes still tied to the old regime as well even though hes only been here a very short while, its just not right is it and you can feel it.

he has potential but he might just be on a good run. I think any new manager

should have experience of the premiership
Have won a trophy in one of the main leagues
Have 10 years experience as a manager

I know Ancelotti has no premiership experience but he took over a top team.

None left mate or none with that sort of experience that are available or would want to leave their current positions.

It's just a very poor time in the season for this to happen (both results and trying to replace a manager).

If he gets sacked now, it would have to be a foreign manager as there isn't an english one capable of doing the job.

Have to say im very very disappointed by the manager so far... I'd still give him 2 more games but at the moment i just cant see us improving under him...

Too late with subs, and usually goes for the safe option... Doesnt seem to read the game well prior to kickoff and during the game...
To be perfectly honest, he's done relatively well in the transfer market and seems to do well in press conferences but besides that offers very little in terms of tactical coaching and team setup...

Chelsea made a mistake when they appointed Scolari and they were brave to rectify that mistake early and quickly . As for his press conferences - they started off ok now they are cringeworthy . His signings ? Well Meireles is a very good players, Cole - well I got absolutely rounded on when I said I was wary of his signing since Chelsea didn't try and keep him and if he would be the player for us people though he would since his injuries and so far his impact is nil . Konchesky is showing exactly why he has never been a top 4 player - not good enough - his swing with his right foot late in game was laughable - and Poulsen - well he is beyond poor . Nothing since Hodgson arrived has improved .

I have been one of Roys biggest backers on here and I have asked for the man to be given a chance. I dont think it right for a Liverpool manager to be sacked after 8 games. I still believe Roy should be given more time and some of the disrespect shown on the forum to him is disgraceful and is not something I grew up expecting of Liverpool fans.

Having said that, things need to change and change quick. I personally think Roy should be given to at the very least Xmas, but there is going to have to be a dramatic turnaround. I watched the game today and we were very very poor. The stats will show we had more possession and had more shots on goal but that is only because Everton had the game won and sat pack and let us come on to them. The buck stops with the manager and he is responsible for results but some of the football we played today was inexcusable.

Simple things like controlling a ball, a 10 yard pass and crosses that can beat the first man. I watched the match today with my brother in law who supports United and the amount of times he laughed when one of our players did something silly was embarrassing. These are professional footballers who cant control a ball? Joe Cole was anonymous, Torres looked like he was playing football for the first time and dont get me started on Lucas and Maxi who both offered nothing going forward. Gerrard tried but he had to come back, even in the first half, to get the ball off the centre backs!

As I said the buck stops with the manager but the players need to take a good look at themselves and get it together. Now whether all of this is down to Roys tactics I dont know but surely he cant be held accountable when players make mistakes, such as the ones I mentioned above. The players have to take SOME of the blame. If we get a win or two under our belt confidence will slowly start coming back into the club and we will move up the table, but all this badgering of Roy isn't helping anyone. All it does is increases the pressure on each player and magnifies each aspect of their performances.

Some of the criticism Roy has been getting on here is not on, if you dont want him as manger then fine, voice your concern and give your opinions, but can we please stop all this name calling and judging the mans character. Thats not what we are about.

To be fair that defeat was partly expected. The bitters were not that much better than Blackpool, if at all. In fact Ive just watched Blackpool batter city and get beat. If, and I say if, Roy has to go then surely at least 80% of those sh'ithouses out there must go too. Our so called "best players" are atrocious and there is a blatant lack of leadership on the pitch. If any of those who played today were satisfied with their performance they need Fu*king off asap.
We are clueless, passionless and looking like a team of strangers. The bitters didnt deserve to win except for the fact that they took advantage of our terrible defending. They were pi'ss poor but what they did have was balls and determination. I am still confident we will finish above them but we have to start getting it right very soon.

I have the same opinion dundalk, but he is making it hard on himself.

I'm giving him 3 games now, if he we don't get minimum of 7 points from the 3 games then we have to change something. However, I don't believe NESV will keep him, I think there is 60% chance that he won't be managing next game because the majority of Liverpool supporters want him out.

Meireles and Cole are both top players... Fact they arent performing to their best yet isnt indicative of their quality..
Konchesky has been solid and you'd have to be deluded to expect more from him... He's done a job and is an improvement on what we had..

Poulsen i'm not a big fan of.... Still a better defensive midfielder than Lucas though.. He'll probably come in handy in knockout competitions if we make latter stages..

All in all, i'd say he did well in the market given what he spent..

The main criticism when it comes to transfers was letting Aquilani go.... That was a poor decision by all accounts especially given the fact that his position is the main worry in the side at the moment...

Not convinced with Konchensky. He's been shown up on a number of ocassions and was at fault, along with Skrtel for the first goal.

But, as with Roy, have no option but to give the lad more time. The board can decide quickly on Roy, but Konchensky/Poulsen will be around till end of season and that's plenty of time for the former to settle in. The latter needs to bring along a tv and popcorn so he can permanently settle in on the bench :)
