Benitez was part of the problem, not the solution

I actually think Benitez was a casualty of the problem as was the appointment of Roy in the summer......

The problem has been removed but the after affects are still with us......

I'm convinced Roy will still be here for the remainder of this season unless we are deep in doo doo come xmas, simply because its October, there ain't a lot too choose from and the new owners will need some time to draw up plans for the future before approaching worthy managers with a reasonable transfer kitty......

Hopefully any transfer activity in the future won't be dependant on the monies gained from sales...

but can we overlook all the things Rafa got wrong when he was here, the 76 players, the CL teams he built and left the prem ?
the strange subs he made, talking about contracts and stuff in the press.

for me that would be a hard one to take.

another game and another sh'ite performance.
we got what we deserved today, nothing.post match interview from roy was delusional and way off the truth.
he was brought here to steady the supposed ship and reunite the players so far he has failed to do anything like that.he looked clueless on the touchline again and waited way too long to try and change it.
he's failing abismaly at the task he was hired for and we havent progressed one little bit since his appointment.

on another note it was an absolute stupid decision to give him a 3 year deal in the first place when the club was up for sale.

on martin o neil and i dont particularly rate him too highly but the one thing i will say is he strives to win and be successful and he showed he had more ambition than villa will ever have so he walked.
this isnt a bad trait for a manager to have.

i should point out that in my view Konchesky was only taken to the club as he comes under home grown, lets not forget we can not even put a full list of 25 players, thats not Roys fault so we got to let him off that one lol

Homegrown Players: (8)

Carragher
Cole
Darby
Gerrard
Johnson
Jones
Konchesky
Spearing

Non-Homegrown Players: (14)

Agger
Aurelio
Babel
Itandje
Jovanovic
Kyrgiakos
Kuyt
Lucas
Maxi
Meireles
Poulsen
Reina
Skrtel
Torres

dont think he is, he walked due to the :censored: he was told by the owner, told they were not going to sell his players and that he was going to get money.

no way have we a bad squad,ok its not full of matchwinning quality but its much better than our position indicates and was decent enough for any new manager to inherit and build on.
this squad is of higher standard than what roy has ever had before.

agree with lakes here.
players leave all the time when clubs dont match there ambition so imo a manager shouldnt be any different.
i wouldnt blame o neil at all for walking on villa when the club wants to sell your best players and only give you a percentage of the fee to replace them and still expect to gain the same results.

but whats the point of me saying it mate, in MY VIEW we are in this mess and part of the reason is that Ragfa put us there.
but it is only my view, i not trying to change anyones mind, but i feel Rafa needs to take some of the blame.

god the weeks before rafa left this forum was 30/70 in wishing for him to get the sack.

IN MY VIEW. we are no paying for his mistakes, he made them all last year and most of the forumn was picking up on it.

we did not make the cl last year and the signs where there that things were getting bad, we lost two big names in the closed season so it was always going to be a very sticky start, yes Roy should have done better and another manager could of got a few better results.

look i posted the players list on the other page, we can not even name 25 players in our team, for :censored: sack Rafa took 76 players to this club how the hell can we not name 25.

well thats my view

oh and my view on Roy!!! should he stay or should he go? i think there are better managers out there that will spend our money better in Jan.
