No, hold on. Who was right? Sure Roy would come in and put his arm round the players and cheer them up. We'd be firing for fourth. He'd steady the ship, sure.

Question: where are we in the league and how sh*t are our performances?

Is 2 seasons too much to give a manger? (personally, I say 3, but I won't push it)

17 games he has had now - we had a very poor season last season of that there is no doubt but this season is trumping it in all respects currently - if we keep going this way we won't be even in top half come the end of the season and you want to give manager another season maybe even two - is that to drag us further downhill

Your bias is showing ER, last season your posts would go '' last time I heard there are 38 games in a season'' or '' its the players who aren't playing right''.....

Now why change in attitude?

Who didn't? Go and dig out a few of my posts from last season. I ripped into players left right and centre. The evidence is there to be seen on the pitch as plain as day this season. The systems, tactics, they aren't working. That's the manager's job. He sent that squad out today to do a containment job on Blackpool at home! How can that be defended? Roy has a tendency to do that, go 2-0 down, then send them out second half with a more attack approach. It's his tactics that are at fault. Simple as that.

That's precisely my point. You "ripped into" certain players last season for their performances, but did you "rip into" the manager for the fact that a) He bought them, b) He trained them c) He picked them. Are you doing more of the former or more of the latter now?

Good post from Tompkins on twitter.

That is a top 6 squad, no more, no less. Rafa underachieved last season, and was sacked; Roy is responsible for results now.

Here's the thing: since the start of the season, I've seen nothing but a steady decline of our performances on the pitch with absolutely no sign of progress. Remember, this man was brought here to apparantly steady a rocking ship. Instead he's the one rocking it. We aren't getting better. It's not working out. It's not going to work out, and he was never the man for the job in the first place, and that's been my view of it from day one and it won't change. So far, my view has proven to be correct. That's all there is to it. No biase, just an educated view on the manager. He's won nothing of note in almost 35 years of experience, and he's never managed a club the size of ours in the state we're in either, Inter excluded. They don't count.

But that's just it, he doesn't say he f**ked up.

He says he's to blame because he's the manager. Not he's to blame because he sets us up to play counter attack at home against Blackpool & Sunderland with 4 centre mids in 4-4-1-1 and not 1 fast player in our front 6. He is not admitting that he's doing anything wrong & continuing with a setup that doesn't seem suited to our players.

It was the same after Northampton, he said "I'm to blame because I sent that team out". Again no real acknowledgement that he made a mistake.

He's just trying to appear honourable by taking responsibility without actually taking responsibility and it's f**king :censored: imo.

I find it incredulous that people can watch the dreck that is being served up atm and have the brass balls to blame the last coach. Benitez failed because he took his eye off the ball and got more interested in playing pointless political games he could never expect to win rather than being fully focused on the team. The man was still a top class and very successful coach. We we AWFUL at times last season, yet when we played against shuck we still more often than not gave them a good going over, Im thinking about Stoke, Hull and Burnley. What we are seeing at the moment is absolutely pathetic, tactically inept, zero effort, school boy errors and a manager who sits on the bench looking like a man who is in way over his head. We have been humiliated by BLACKPOOL, a team full of donkeys, bingo players and circus folk at ANFIELD. There are a lot of you that are still trying to manipulate the facts in order to prove that you were on the correct side of all the petty bickering last season. The truth is Benitez had to go, all the spark had gone from his tenure and his distractions really were showing in his actions in games, with team selections, interviews, outbursts etc. Contrary to what some of you claim, he did a great job, brought glory days back to Liverpool and almost won the league for the 1st time in 2 decades but he did have to leave, probably as much for his own sanity than for his career! So we had to find a replacement, and knowing that out budgetis almost nil, we were out of the Champions League and some of our top players wanted to leave we had to get this appointment bang on. The man we have hired spoke a good game when he got the job, and I like many others were pleasantly suprised by his honest assessment of the situation and his pragmatic approach to it, but then when business of actually playing football matches started its safe to say that it quickly became apparant that things are far from rosey. Including the cup games by my reckoning we have played 14 matches this season, I can honestly say that in those 14 games we havnt put a single 1st half performance in where I could state we were comfortably the better side, we seem content to give away huge amounts of possession even at home, coupled with our back 4 standing virtually on their own 18yd line. In years gone by I would have classed Pepe Reina as the best sweeper keeper in the world, now he rarely comes of his line never mind out of his box, why are letting such a strong part of this mans game be ignored? We have signed players that dont have alot of peak mileage left in them, 29-30 years old you would have to believe they are going to be slightly on the way down in terms of performances from a scientific point of view. We have signed Joe Cole on a free transfer, but on huge wages and in truth he has looked on a different wavelength to his teammates. We signed a player to replace Mascherano who looks totally inequipped for the fast paced premier league, an international central midfielder and player him on the right side and of course Fulhams number 1 left back. We still have a £17m RB who cant defend for toffee, yes I know he was signed by the last manager but seriously, f*ck Glen Johnson. What Im trying to say is it has become apparant very quickly that the wrong man is at the helm here, I remember after the City game people were on almost gloating that he had lost heavily that night, I was very annoyed at that but obviously I was weary that he had got it tactically so wrong but I realized it was early and he had time to learn. HE HASNT LEARNED. The negativity is still there, we dont look like an attacking force until we go behind and I for one dont want to wait another 15 matches in the hope that he sees the light. We are in the relegation zone, the most successful team in England playing like chumps, How many times have we heard the old addage "they're too good to go down" only for lessons not to be learned and a huge side unthinkably slip out of the division? Well if it were to happen to us it would be the most shocking thing to happen in British football in 50 years, the ownership issue may be a huge problem running through the club right now but there is simply no excuse to be 18th in the league, ths squad has more than enough ability to take care of the likes of Northamption, Sunderland and Blackpool at Anfield and that is a matter the manager has to be held accountable for. So what do we do? Do we risk this turning into something truly desperate or do we take a chance on someone who will at least try to play some proper football and perhaps let our more creative players show what they can do?

I have mate, I cant see it getting better, and I did think Hodgson would do a good job, or at least I thought he would adapt his style for a bigger team, but apparently he thinks we should play like Fulham and everytime I watch this current side I die a little inside  :sniffle
