ROY HODGSON - Official Thread

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby parchpea » Sun Oct 03, 2010 5:28 pm

I dont think we made a mistake changing the manager but I have to say that it looks very much like we have made the wrong appointment after today. To be honest I wouldnt be surprised to see Hodgson walk with the heat that will be generated after this afternoons spectacular. Thing is theres only one guy that would take it but at least Dalglish would unite a club that is having its guts ripped out every day at the moment. I doubt we would see a quick fix even with Dagger but bringing the fans together and getting the crowd back would be some consolation.

DAMAGE LIMITATION

Get him out of the club asap and stick Kenny in charge till the end of the season. The thought of a whole season with him in charge genuinely scares me.

glad the clowns back posting.

you never saw us the whole of the second half of last season? You never saw the looks Stevie et al gave the manager as he made ridiculous decision after redicolous decision.  :no

Where we ever in the bottom three under previous manager , did we ever get knocked out of CC by a team in the bottom teir of English league football - look at the table , look at the results and look at the performances - they are the hard facts that tell the story .

Kenny is a poor manager, but we need spirit now, not ability...

and Kenny is a legend  :bowdown

Gotta say this Hodgson bashing is getting a bit infentile. Most of us agreed Rafa had to go and the question who would be a reasonble manager for Liverpool ,The big names wouldn't come as long as current managment stays so who could you sign? Roy is a solid permiership manager ,his previous team has overachieved it's potential. He was a reasonable decision in my mind. I think he underestimated the crisis in which the club is and was and didn't react as expected to pull us out. If he does pay with his job i would like to see at least 4-5 players being shipped with him.

Roy only mistake is to accept this LFC job, he should have stay comfortable managing Fulham.

Well Daglish foreseen all of this the moment he saw Roy name, n did what he felt is best for the club, put himself into contention n got shot down.

only he can save us now, the man commands respect n will unite the team.

To be fair this isnt about 7 games or 17 games its about the decline weve been in for the last 3 seasons. Yes I know we came 2nd two seasons ago but many said we were punching above our weight and it was a false position.
The rot started when Benitez in his wisdom plotted to offload Alonso for Barry. Since then we have deteriorated and whether the slide can be stopped is now open to debate.

Oh that's convenient isn't it, all roads lead to Rafa. :D  . You sure it's not down to shopping in bargain basement for several years? Say what you will but we were never in the relegation zone under Rafa.

Forget Stevies face last season. I'm sure if you look at Fernando's or Pepe's face today they will give Stevie a run for his money.

Relegation zone dawson, alarm bells are ringing mate. Whatever your thoughts towards the previous manager they need to be put to one side. We need to look at the now and how to stop the rot and for me that starts with sacking Hodgsen.

of course he gave a monkeys...

I think the thing is, whether or not he was right as manager wasnt the point as arguaments started here, it was the way some of our fans have behaved recently (not you cigs!!!)

I still dont blame roy, never will, its the owners. Roy never stood a chance the situation left him in dire straits.

Its just a f*cked up sitation which is sad.

what we dont need is

a: fans calling roy vermin or a pensioner

b: fans being happy that hes made mistakes

but we know that wont work. If world class Rafa struggled, and now an english manager has struggled, cant we see its deeeper than that?

We need to take serious action against the owners
