It's also quite funny that the people who keep saying Rafa is gone get over it are the ones who keep bringing him up and last season to some way justify anything the new manager does . Some people do believe the next two games will go a long way to show how our season goes and some people do believe we need positive results from those two games to install a bit of confidence into the squad and to ensure we keep in touch with our rivals - some people think that if we didn't get positive results that it isn't good to have such a big gap between us and our rivals so early on in the season is not a good thing and would ensure the pressure starts mounting on the club . Not one of these people have ever suggested that the managers job is on line if we don't get positive results . Also some of these people don't want another 7th place finish and was under the understanding that the new manager would improve things - hence the reason spending 9 million bringing a new manager in . I would suggest that other people stop going on about previous season and concentrate on the current season we are in and the uphill battle we face getting back into the cl .

Look through the thread and you will see I'm not alone - what will you be saying today I wonder - so far during last week you have said I should go support Inter and that I also would be banned if I said the same thing last season - so what's it to be Mick now ? How come you keep bringing up previous manager and going on about last season when you keep telling everyone to get over it he has gone ?

Mick Ive never been so un-interested in these two games in my life, ive got more on my mind than what goes on, on the pitch when I said we NEED atleast 4 points "in-case" we go into administration has no bearing on Roy what so ever, but more to do with premier league survival.

But you decided to talk about something completly different about Rafas first season and last, we are not singing from the same team sheet here, no one mentioned Rafa you brought him up.

You are aware that the RBS put our loans into the toxic debt department last night arnt you?
That should be the topic of conversation at the moment not about our Rafas first season.

Rafa's gone you and others seriously need to move on, your an intelligent bloke and you used to make some great posts on here that I agreed with, but you really seem to be going out of your way to rile people at the momment your better than that, get back to your old posting ways this new persona doesnt suit you.

You had the last word there Benny, I can't be bothered mate to be honest :D .

Anyway onto a more serious discussion hopefully, I think it's fair to say that the way Roy sets up against Birmingham will provide a few clues into the way he is going to play going forward. Most people (myself included) don't think the 4-4-2 worked against Man City, and whether or not that was forced upon him by Masherano's petulance or not, it'll be interesting to see whether or not he goes back to 4-5-1. I do get the feeling that he see us at our most potent with a 4-4-2 (don't know why, I just do) but at the moment, my guess is that he'll go back to Torres up top with someone playing off of him.

You have to assume he'll play Konchesky, which will immediately pose a selectorial question at centre half. Here we'll get an early indication how highly Roy rates Agger and Skyrtel, whether or not the Greek has done enough to force his way in etc.

In midfield, I guess Moriales will start. It's not a certainty, sometimes managers like to bring a foreign newbie on as sub, but my guess is he will. If he doesn't, then Lucas and Poulsen will no doubt sit in behind Gerrard (I think Coles suspended although I might be wrong). If either Moriales starts though, and/or Cole isn't suspended then we'll get an early read on how Roy rates Poulsen in comparison to Lucas.

On the right Derek can't play, so once again we'll get an idea of Roys pecking order. Another thing which I for one will be watching with interest is how we press the ball when we haven't got it. I'm expecting us to stay with our method this season of sitting in, for at least the next two matches anyway.

It's two extremely tricky fixtures coming up. We got one point out of six in them last season, hopefully Roy and the lads can do better this time :buttrock .

Well Roy made the mistake of playing 4-4-2 against Mancity and immediately learned from it by playing 4-2-3-1 in the next game (and that was against West Brom at home) so I'm sure he's just scrapped the idea of playing 4-4-2 altogether or at least until he signs few players of his liking to fit in the system.

If the players play with a smile on their face and show some passion and committment we will have improved.
If the manager gets anything trophywise from this season it will be as monumental as Istanbul
I really hope we do better than seventh this season. But if we dont, but we have tried our best then I will settle for that

All the games are exciting now seeing as we have new players out there and a new manager looking to get these lads playing and mould them into a decent side. The stuff off the field will take care of itself one way or another so I reckon its best to just enjoy what its really about and get something from the action on the park rather than focus on whats going on off it. We an rattle on and shout all we like about the ownership issue but to this point its made little or no difference and it probably wont in the future either so I am just going to get stuck into the footy until they sort it out.

So tiresome to read posts from Thommo´s perm and bigdick... always bringing up Rafa every :censored: way you can. He is gone.... I bet you are happy.. then please let it rest. The most important thing right now is not the games it's about who will own us in the future.

It may be a blessing in disguise if we do badly until october. The buyers may buy us cheaper and they can spend more money on the club.

Had a gander on Rawk earlier, I can see why so many of last years superfans on here are unhappy about Roy being in charge. Like sheep they've followed the herd over there and are bringing their miserable insights over here.

That place was only ever interested in Rafa and quickly became a laughing stock amongst other football fans on the inet when people read that place. It was quite literally embarrassing, let's not go that way on here.
Football is a relatively simple game and Roy knows it ;)

This place is also a laughing stock it becomes that way when people set up little groups for themselves high fiving each other.

With their I love Roy group.

And if you dont join said group you are not entitled to your own opinion, not a proper fan and get insulted for having an opinion etc etc.

It really is pathetic.

I am not part of any group im just being honest about the situation if people dont like honesty tough shit I dont really care !!!!

When I bring up Rafa it is in response to a Rafapologist who directly or indirectly use him to criticise our new manager. I acknowledge that while he was manager we won the CL and the fa cup for which I am grateful. But this is a new era with different people and new possibilities
I personally couldnt care less if I never spoke about Rafa again. I am responding to those who wont let it go.

Is there an "I love Roy" group though  There may well be a "lets at least give Roy a chance before we stick the knife into him" group, which may even have splintered into a "since he's the Liverpool manager hows about we treat him with respect" subsection, but I'm not sure there's an "I love Roy" gang really.

I've said it plenty of times now, if you don't rate Roy, if you think he's "a sh!t manager", if you want to take the p!ss out of the way he speaks, want to dismiss the fact that he's won seven domestic titles, want to dismiss the fact that he matched our finishing position of last season while he was managing Fulham and not spending a sheckle, then fair enough. It's entirely up to everyone what they think of him.

Whether or not people like Roy, slag Roy or whatever doesn't bother me in the least, in fact I couldn't give a flying feck about their opinions to be perfectly honest . They are fully entitled to them, it doesn't make them less of a fan or anything else. I do think by the same token that such is some peoples obsession with past employees of the club that they might be better off visiting other clubs forums, but once again that's entirely up to them.

The crux is though, those of us who are quite hopeful, quite happy, quite positive etc etc are surely entitled to our opinions too. Just because we don't choose to wollow in a pit of depression it doesn't mean we are clueless, it doesn't mean we have our heads the sand, and it doesn't mean we are a joke.

Say what you like about Roy but I like him. Given equal resources, I think he would do the best job of any manager we've had since Dalglish.
