Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I know you need time Bob but unfortuantly we are now in a results business when time is little afforded and the pressure starts mounting as you go along - if we win the next two games which would be fantastic then the pressure is lifted lots and the time afforded gets extended - if you get negative results then the pressure increases - due to the strength ( in terms of ability and financial clout )of the current top 5 - spurs, man city ,arsenal ,chelsea and man utd we cant afford to fall too far back so early as closing the gap becomes a massive mountain to climb . It is a crucial season both on and off the field and its a season we have to get right and i hope Hodgson and the players get it right on the field and Purslow and Broughton off the field get it right .

It may seem a hard thing to do but imo its the situation we see ourselves in at the moment .

Sorry Matt but on these two points your chatting sh!t.

As positive of this season as I try to be we won't be breaking our record on points this season. We may well have 33 games left but if we lose the next two it's wholly likely more losses are coming along.

Losing the next 2 games won't affect our confidence as the manager and players are professional enough to accept the losses and move on.

Since when does two straight losses not affect ANY team?
Sure they can bounce back but losing two games on the trot is indicative of a pattern for the remaining season.

Bowlocks.

Goodness knows what the atmosphere will be like in the club and the changing room in the run up to October 6th, bet you could cut the tension with a knife and you want to blame Woy if we dont get 6 points - fantasyland.

I'm a fatalist, I have no expectations this season of Woy or the team, qualify for the Uefa cup again and I'll be happy but we'll only really 'steady the ship' under new ownership, new squad investment and a new stadium. When our heads come back up, we'll see progress. Until then its a wing and a prayer but I dont blame the manager.

Why do we have such a 'blame' culture?

The blame culture started a long time again reg - its the way of the world these days now when something goes wrong and things dont get right people will look to blame someone . IMO we are at a crucial stage in our club - both on and off the field and we have to get everything as right as we can . If we can get things right on the pitch then it gives everyone a massive lift and confidence can increase - get two great results in the next two games and everything can change and we start moving up .

Ok but you are confusing 'wanting to win' - the desire to win, with blaming the manager if we dont fulfill your desire or expectation.

Life aint quite as simple as that.........  :eyebrow

If things dont go right on the pitch then the blame lies with the players and the manager - just like it always should of .

As you say my expectations of the season arent as high as some as well Reg .

just give the man a chance Benny, please, have a little faith that given a fair crack at this might just provide the results we all want. All he does is worry about the team and the football. Board room fuk ups and our turd owners are no concern of Roys. He keep us afloat though and he'll be there when mr.new-owner throws a wheelie bin full of cash at him and says 'crack on sunshine'.

in the meantime we stay afloat. finishing top 4 would be wonderful, winning our next 2 games would be great too but if we draw with Brummy and lose to mancs will you be on here shouting to fire his sorry a$$ out the door? I hope not.

Fecking unreal, the irony of it  Three games into the season and he wants to start blaming a manager who has signed players who haven't played a match yet.

Best fans in the land. If you'd have been coming out with this sh!t about the previous manager you'd have been banned by now.

I'm sorry but please do explain why I should be banned or be given a card . For years people like you Mick has been saying the buck stops with the manager and he is the one who shoulders the blame ? Have things changed now where if things don't go right you don't blame the manager .

Lee I haven't once demanded a manager is sacked and I'm not going to start now during a season . Even if we don't win he next two games and in fact lose them both I won't be coming on demanding he is sacked . The two games IMO are pretty crucial in how our season is going to go - nowhere have I stated that they are crucial to Hodgson staying as our manager

It's funny how you have chosen two incredibly tough outings (away to Birmingham and away to ManUtd) as a 'must win', now or never games to judge Roy.

I see a conspiracy theory here.  :D

It would of made no difference if the next two games were against Accrington Stanley and AFC Wimbledon they importance would be the exact same .

I think Benny deep down is just on a wind up seeking a little attention.
Football is a relatively simple game and Roy knows it ;)

I would suggest not thinking as much and sticking to the topic as opposed to accusing me of things .
