Its  my opinion that the next two games he has to get it right and its an opinion i will stick with .

The reasons the next two games are crucial

1. If we lose them we only have 4 points from 15

2. We are in dire financial problems and we need CL football for both finances and lure of players

3. Confidence - lose those games and it takes a big bashing

4. we will more than likely be double figure points behind the challengers for title and CL spot .

5.Hodgson is at a big club and has everything to prove - just like any manager or player of any club - your are judged as you go along and then the conclusions happen at the end of the season .

People moaned about me moaning about Benitez, but I gave him three and a half seasons before I started getting twitchy, not three and a half weeks.

Goodness knows what the atmosphere will be like in the club and the changing room in the run up to October 6th, bet you could cut the tension with a knife and you want to blame Woy if we dont get 6 points - fantasyland.

I'm a fatalist, I have no expectations this season of Woy or the team, qualify for the Uefa cup again and I'll be happy but we'll only really 'steady the ship' under new ownership, new squad investment and a new stadium. When our heads come back up, we'll see progress. Until then its a wing and a prayer but I dont blame the manager.

Why do we have such a 'blame' culture?

The blame culture started a long time again reg - its the way of the world these days now when something goes wrong and things dont get right people will look to blame someone . IMO we are at a crucial stage in our club - both on and off the field and we have to get everything as right as we can . If we can get things right on the pitch then it gives everyone a massive lift and confidence can increase - get two great results in the next two games and everything can change and we start moving up .

The reasons next two games are not crucial

1. Even If we lose them, we have 33 more games and if we win them all we'll have 103 points and we'll be champions.

2. Even if we lose next games it won't affect anything financially as the transfer market is closed till January and if we finish in top 4 by the end of the season, we'll have CL football and will be able to lure top players easily. In any case, we won't have enough cash to clear our debt even if we win our next 2 games.

3. Losing the next 2 games won't affect our confidence as the manager and players are professional enough to accept the losses and move on.

4. We will more unlikely to be double figure points behind the challengers for title and CL spot because all of those competitors can lose 2 games as well.

5.Hodgson is at a big club but the big club knows we can't compete with big boys at the moment financially and hasn't provided Roy enough funds to rebuilt the squad according to his preferences. So Roy has nothing to prove as of yet.

Yes off course he is entitled to a 2 year or 3 year plan or whatever amount of years - as long as there is the right steps in the right direction .

Maybe im moaning because im not liking or enjoying what im seeing at the moment .

Ok any season previously where we have had poor starts .

We all want the change but we all know other clubs have got stronger and are much more stable financially. And we all prefer to wait and give the manager time because he has to work in a restrictive environment.

I was under the understanding that when you replace a manager your doing so to look for an improvement , a change , for things to move forward and take steps to go forward - if its just to stay as we are then why waste 9 million or so replacing managers ?

I think it's pretty unrealistic to expect a new manager (Roy Hodgson, Guus Hiddink, Jose Mourinho or whoever) to come in and start immediately producing top-quality, free-flowing pass-and-move football.  Nor do I think it's particularly useful to heap the 'must win' expectations on him so early into a new season.  Let's not forget that several of our new signings have not even played a competitive match for the team yet and that most of the rest have been traipsing the continent (or crossing the Atlantic in the case of our Spanish lads) for the last fortnight with their national sides.  I want to see us win the next two matches and to play fantastic football in the process as much as anyone but I'll be philosophical if it doesn't happen.  Rome wasn't (re)built in a day, after all and Roy will need some time yet to get the team sorted out and playing the way they are capable of.
