When a team plays against Inter and has 80% of the possession and is beaten with out so much as a whimper 3-0 .... then maybe some can indeed gloat ,until then maybe if they turned their attentions closer to home ???

I reckon Rafa threw the match so Jose couldn't claim it as his trophy.  :D

In all seriousness Inter were distinctly second best, and Samuel Eto isn't a left winger. Unlike many on here I was and remain deeply unconvinced of Mr Benitez's prowess (his record throughout his career really isn't that good at all) and I think he won't see the season out in Italy.

Equally, his actions and his words regarding some of our players and supposed "agreements and assurances" he gave us when he left don't surprise me either. I agree with Ace, this will be an interesting thread as the season develops.

Eto as a left winger ? Jesus.....  :wwww

I just don't get it....why doesn't benitez play footballers in their strongest positions ? The inter fans won't be as patient as us...

Anyway..moving on, I hope he really learnt from all the mistakes he made here and has a successful season at inter. I wanted benitez gone....and he has gone...and for that he has my support (inter is my fav italian team now :p) But playing eto on the left wing ain't gonna help.

Maureen has never won the Super Cup, Rafa has. You done now?

IIRC I'm sure that Maureen played Eto'o on the left, I may be wrong but I swear I've seen it a few times

Nope, I aint defending Rafa with that statistic at all but I can by stating that Maureen has never won it and Rafa has so those who use it as a reason to bash Rafa have to stomach that fact. Maxi, Jose will always be more 'successful' than Rafa when he goes to clubs that are absolutely guaranteed to finish in the top 2 of their respective leagues. Give the grey haired t0sser an actual job to do then we'll see what he can do

You think he would have won us the league or is this when people actually begin to realise our real problems?

Really? Why's that?

On the onther point you mentioned, unless I'm mistaken Eto'o played on the wing for much of last season and in many a key game in Europe.

I thought that too LFC2007, like I posted above. I'd like someone to prove otherwise but I recall the same as you

Yeh but that doesn't count though , this is rafa we're talking about remember . The re-writers of history don't let facts get in the way of a good arguement. Take a look at the mourinho thead . 90 pages of A.rselicking at it's finest . This thead which is about someone who was once our manager 99% slagging him off . Tell you everything LFC lad.

Completely agree with you Igor. Inter lose their first game of the season and it's a sign of things to come, but the insipid football we've been playing and in particular the diabolical display away to Man City - on a par with last season's "shambles" - is "impressive". :D  Furthermore, the club has no plans to sell any of its players to Inter Milan and yet Rafa has been accused of "reneging" on an agreement not to "poach" any of his former players. By contrast Roy is on the verge of signing Paul Konchesky from his former club, despite saying in a televised press conference that he had agreed not to sign any Fulham player.

i would totally agree with everything you said about Jose but the thing is, he walks his talk. Rafa is now with the European champs, as once we were, and who also happen to be the league holders. lets see how he fares.

Etoo played in a wide left role for Barce and for pretty much the whole of last season as they had Milito through the middle and Pancev on the right .

It'll certainly be interesting to see how Rafa goes. Similarly Mourinho, and obviously Roy as well. My prediction is that Benitez won't see out the season at Inter, Mourinho will fail disasterously at Real Madrid, but Roy will triumph by winning a trophy and leading us into 4th.
