Seems to have been a fair bit of underhanded tactics during the World Cup, leading up to, and after. The Barca contingent trying to pull Fabregas away from Arsenal being the prime example. Far too much goes on via the media, interest in players declared long before any fee is agreed.
I was under the impression Jol was set to be the new Fulham manager, but reading the BBC report Ajax are refusing to discuss compensation. Push comes to shove he can walk out and he and spudz can contest the compensation via a tribunal. Sooner or later we'll get a Bosman style ruling for managers, although in the most part they are settled via compensation being agreed.
