Spurs enjoyed their finest Premier League season last term, finishing in fourth place and earning a spot in the Champions League.

However, Redknapp believes that Spurs can use a few new players in order to help them build on those achievements.

"We need two or three players who can make the difference," Redknapp told Sky Sports.

"We've got a big squad, but I do feel we need just that little bit of quality in one or two areas if we're going to move on from where we were last year."

Redknapp thinks that it is possible for Spurs to challenge for the Premier League title this season, saying that this is their best chance at league success in a long time.

"We did great last year, but we just need to push on and maintain that.

"We want to win the championship. It's not impossible.

"Fourth place last year was marvellous, but I think this is the best chance Tottenham have had in how many years to really push on and maintain that, and become a regular top four team and maybe push for a championship.

So in one season they manage to get a top four finish, bearing in mind that the season before they were in the relegation zone at one point; Mr Redknapp believes they can win the prem...

Cole, 28, joined the Reds on a free transfer this week after he was released by Chelsea in May.

"I spoke to him a month ago and I thought he was coming here," said Tottenham manager Redknapp, who managed the midfielder at West Ham.

"He wanted to come to Spurs. He'd made his mind up - I had no doubt. But a month went by and Liverpool moved in."

England international Cole signed a four-year deal with the Anfield club and will reportedly earn £90,000 per week."

The thing with Cole was he got fed up playing in front of aload of plastic fans with there plazzy flags. he wanted to play for a team with Real fans , with real banners and flags , play your cards right Joe and your face could end up on one of the flags getting waved week in week out on the kop, Yes you say the Chelsea fans adored you , and if you give your all lad we will adore you to , You will feel the shiver down your spine when we sing your name, You respect us fans and the club and we will repect you ,No ammount of money paid by Spurs or anyone else could give you that , your bank balance might of been  bigger but as you said yourself . youll never find fans like us to give you  that special feeling,
HE WHO BETRAYS WILL ALWAYS WALK ALONE

Didn't Chelsea refuse his demands that he wanted on a new contract with Ancelotti saying it wasn't financial suitable for them - the I hear Cole saying on the radio that he could of stayed at Chelsea but decided to come to Liverpool instead !? That doesn't seem right to me - I'm guessing if Chelsea offered what he asked for at first he would still be there so he left and was unattached when we signed him so it doesn't add it like he was suggesting in his interview when he made it seem like he had a choice between us and them - unless they offered they same as us  ?

As I understand it Chelsea offered him a three year extension on his contract, which was at a rate very similar to what we have settled on. Cole though wanted a wage rise, up to around the same levels as Lampard and Terry are on (about 130-140K per week). Chelsea refused and so it was agreed that he'd be allowed to leave.

Well if he didn't sign a new contract there is nothing to agree on - he is out of contract and leaves - so if Chelsea had given him what he wanted then he wod of stayed ? Reading a few Chelsea forums it seemed he wasn't offered a pay rise and his extension was at the same 70 grand he was on .

For sure if Chelsea had paid him what he wanted he would have stayed. As I say they were only prepared to extend his contract on the same terms (they did much the same with Ballack). The word is he was already on similar to what we offered, but he wanted around a 40% rise which Chelsea weren't prepared to go to, and to be honest I can't blame them.

The difference between Chelsea and us is that they don't really need Cole (he was struggling to get a game for them), whereas we do. If he's fit, you would imagine that unless he's become sh!t all of a sudden he'll get into our team.

Nobody but Cole knows what his exact motives were, the easiest to latch onto and criticise Cole for is money. For the extra £20k or whatever people want to speculate he might be getting he gets more games BUT less prospect of trophies. Quite possibly they didn't want to offer him a long contract, but most of the talk of what so and so offered in terms of contract length and size is conjecture/speculation.

If he were on a massive wage increase then I'd join the bandwagon of people saying "it was for the money", but I doubt we'd be able to offer a lot more than Chelsea and maybe just maybe he wants to play football. I don't disbelieve him when he says he tried to put the money aside and make a footballing decision, although the atmosphere at Anfield sounds a bit too weak a reason and too much like trying to ingratiate himself with LFC fans.

I don't think there can be much doubt he'd get more games at a club smaller than Chelsea and Man Utd, quite possibly he wouldn't necessarily be a regular for spudz even, and draw lots at citeh, so he's picked arguably the biggest club that has the best prospect of him being a regular 1st XI starter. But let's ignore how much he might have played under each club and focus on wages
