I hope he makes a few first team appearances. He said something about setting himself a target of x games.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

I'd like to see Shelvey get some first team action but I'm not sure he's ready to play in the Premier League...

as bigmick would say i know it's early but i was impressed with what i saw of the kid yesterday. ok it was only a pre-season friendly but the kid looks to have a lot of confidence and drive about him. reminds me of the gerrard of the 2001 era.

What I like about him most to be honest, is how often he gets involved. He's always making himself available and calling for the ball. Gerrard-esque that.

Lucas is in desperate need of this quality. How many times do we see (or not see) him completely fade out of a game and do bugger all.

If he does ever get to the level Sissoko was I should think we'd all be happy to be honest. Sissoko's been Juventus's best player for a couple of seasons now by all accounts, and obviously this kids got a way to go to get there.

Also I don't subscribe to the view "he's from league 1 so he obviously isn't that good"

Murphy - Crewe
Redknapp - Bournemouth
Crouch - Southampton
Barry - Brighton

to name a few...

It's all about potential at a young age, Shelvy from what I have seen, both in the clip above and clips from Charlton, has great potential. Hopefully we can nurture it.

If it's the same clip I saw on You Tube I have to say I was very impressed. Obviously these were highlights etc. but he showed all the attributes one requires of a central midfield player, pace, tackling, vision, control, getting forward, getting back... yeah you cannot judge a player solely on the 'highlights' of one game but from the only evidence I have seen you have to say he looks good.

Nae bother mate. He definately stunk the place out in his last season that's for sure. His confidence just seemed shot to pieces.

Moyes consistently brings in players from the leagues and they have mostly been successes.

I thought he looked one step above of every player on the pitch when he came on, i would certainly give him a chance off the bench for about 10 minutes every few games as he certainly has an eye for a pass and has great composure on the ball. He could thrive off being on the pitch he seems like one of those types who wants to show what he's got. I like the look of him and would give him a try in the EL.
