I wonder if Kenny being at the Academy all day and not attending the press conference was a protest?

You'd think he'd of been there to add some credibility, he was supposedly part of the process to bring a manager in?

Just Broughton and Woy alone?  Flimsy, very flimsy.

Or maybe he's just  underwhelmed and couldn't give a toss?

Understand however maybe he is genuinely getting staisfaction from running the academy, I dont know. Its a long term perspective thing the academy, unlike Woys 12 months in front of the camera.

I think Kenny will be off.... he has been undermined publicly by that tw@t Purslow and the other cunt ... he's lost to much face over this farce  :(

Yeah but a new owner would need Kenny, it would be better for him to bite his lip for 12 months and await the new owner rather than drag the club over the coals yet again.

For me Hodgson first big and major challenge is keeping Gerrard at the club - keep him and i think we will keep Torres as well and vice versa . If we loose those then we may get replacements in but nowhere near the ability of those two

He said exactly the opposite of that in the press conference when asked if he would "raid Fulham" for any of their players.

TBH, I think it would've been more than a tad awkard if Kenny was there as the journos would have asked Broughton why he wasn't considered as a candidate, despite putting himself forward for the job.

parchpea wrote:Not sure why Dalglish would be there to be honest. Look I know hes a legend and all that but he has his place at the club and it wasnt to be there today. Hodgson said he will be speaking to everyone including Dagger to find out whats been going on and start to make plans. The managers job is to put a squad together, look after and coach the team and not to get involved in stuff at boardroom level. Quite frankly this is where Benitez crossed the line and Hodgsons approach is quite correct. Think of it conspiracies and make up stories all you want but what Hodgson said today is perfectly normal and understandable. He put on a professional perforamnce and it was nice to hear a clear and concise interview without the aid of interprators for a change. Onward and upwards.

Spot on!

It was like a breath of fresh air listening to someone talk sensible and not try to play to the gallery.
I'm well pleased with his appointment and I'm a lot more confident about the coming season.

Positive introduction to the club along with a public announcement that states we do not need to sell any players.

So far so good.
