Note: some of my mates also LFC fans mentioned that they think this talk of Roy Hodgeson is just a smokescreen and that LFC will be appointing a new manager but it won't be Roy.

I think the owners would have loved Kenny to be in charge, it would save them a few million, and ive noticed they dont like spending money..
I just think there is something going on mate.

I cant think of a manager that we could have appointed that would have suited, heck even a manager with a record second to none Mourhino was being heckled as a potential successor. Bottom line is the people are generally hacked off with the owners and want the club sold so anything they do is just food to have a pop and let off steam. Im not saying thats not understandable but I think its led to an over reaction on the appointment of Hodgson. Lets just see how things shape up in the next month as players filter back into work and we start to get more details of who will be staying and going and the squad starts to take shape for the new campaign.

Emotion is good, but at theis point preseason we need a level head to look at what is happening. I cant stress enough that we WOULD NOT sign a manager from another club unless we had funds or new owners in place... it would make no sense at all. why waste the money when we could have Kenny for free?
I think Kenny would have persuaded Torres to stay and Gerrard would definitely been tempted to play under the King plus Dalglish's name alone would have enticed players simply with the promise of playing under a true Liverpool Legend ...
I expect the owners would be banking on Hodgson having less of an allure mate

there is stuff going on. Heard so many whispers at work, and it wouldnt make sense to spend money on Roy.
the owners are cun*s, but they are rich cun*s and didnt get that way by being bad with money. there is no way they would spend money on roy unless there is a lot going on.
I think Roy is a good choice personally, and i think it willgo through, and i think hes been given the chance by the new owners.. maybe im wrong, maybe he wont even come, but there is definately stuff going on for us to be splashing the cash, not on players

I disagree, I think having a British manager does make a difference.
Many foreign managers will dismiss British talent and favour foreign players. Wenger is a prime example, Benitez was too but a lesser extent.
Week in week out over the last few seasons, we see British players out performing their counterparts. More annoying even, when you see a local lad sold only to excel in the position your weak in. Warnock at LB and Crouch at CF springs to mind.
I for one would like to see a more local policy of players. Local lads, not necessarily Scouse, always adhere themselves well to the Kop. Pretty much all British players we've had in the past are thought of well by everyone.

Agree
Give him a chance.
And if in six years time we finish 7th after being knocked out of all the cups early doors
Then fk him right off!

He's articulate, clever, dry; has a really decent record as a manager and may just be the chap who takes LFC forward on what will most likely be a shoestring budget. The negativity surrounding the news that he may be our next manager is bewildering! The club is in a really sorry state at the moment due to factors we all know about but at least we can all get behind the man who was voted Manager of the Year last season in the toughest League in the world!!!
