Saviola coming to anfield..

Paper talk today suggested that Barca hitman Javier Saviola is on his way to Anfield after refusing to take a pay cut. Barcelona are apparently keen to offload him because of his 2.5 million pound a year salary (50,000 grand a week), which Liverpool are ready to accept, also with Newcastle in the hunt. This could mean Milan Baros going the other way to compensate Barca.

Somehow I don't see it happening as Barca offer Ronaldinho 110,000 grand a week and want to offload their star striker for someone who is on only marginally less money. Saviola would be a great signing for us, but would you rather Baros instead of a swap deal for another player, where the player is on a high-ish wage?

I think I would stick with Baros who is a match for Saviola at the moment and this swap deal would generally be a bad idea.

if it was a swap deal it would have to Saviola and money for Baros i think.

Saviola is a good player but Baros had a good Euro 2004 and has pretty well adjusted to England.

why do we keep being linked to strikers, we have 3 top draw forwards plus one with bags of potential (Sinama Pongolle). Its a central defender we need, plus maybe a quality central midfielder.

I think most of us would agree with that.

Lest we forget, it is the silly season isn't it.  It's all rumour at the moment.

Who honestly thought we would be linked with Josemi?  The last person on everybody's list.

What i'm saying is, you just don't know - it's all speculation.

Nah I'd keep the strike force we've got, yeah Savoila is a great player but I'd prefer to keep Baros as he is settled at the club :)

we have a centre half (Josemi), now we need a right mid and centre mid and we will be class.

let's hope a player like Ballack comes Ian, and perhaps Joaquin on the right  :D

Dalglish you don’t seem to be the type to make wild assumptions  so this particular prediction has me intrigued.
