What about Paul Williams, he could shore up the defence.

Overmars? I think he is past it and seem to be struggling in a slower paced league in Spain. He would be toast playing for a premiership team, unless he goes to play for a team with strong and hardworking defensive midfielders, which we have but are not firing on full cylinders right now (sigh).

Michael Owen is ready to quit Liverpool if they fail to reach the Champions League next season. "For Liverpool not to qualify for the Champions League two years on the trot would have severe repercussions."
And Holmes said: "A crucial five months await Liverpool.
"Michael Owen is now 24. He's moving into his prime and needs to be playing football at the very highest level."
Liverpool boss Houllier, under fire from the club's shareholders and fans, has always remained confident Owen would sign a new deal at Liverpool.
And Owen has played down suggestions he is ready to leave the club and insists talks have started on a new contract.
But it is clear his future will be decided by Liverpool's ability to qualify for the Champions League.

if he goes were doomed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The foundations that OUR beloved LFC were built upon by shanks and paisley alike have been greatly undermined!!.
What the hell are they THE BOARD doing when we are scrapping with fulham for 4th place champions league spot? It is not exceptable and quite frankly embarrassing.Ian st john is not to everybodys taste But he is not far from the TRUTH, He played under the great man Shanks he knows what it takes he knows its brings great embarrassment to the club..LFC should not be challenging for 4th place IT is NOT exceptable and AS GH says WHY the hell should we NOT EXPECT SUCCESS? after all that's what this great club was built on. If that is peoples views on not winning the TITLE and the managers views on EXPECTATION they should all go to a club like SOUTHAMPTON no disrespect but that would be exceptable to them.
Depending on 4th place is a disgrace sack the whole bloody lot of em....

To be honest no team has been that impressive outside the top three. We should be clear of the teams we're struggling to get in front of, even with injury. There are no major forces outside of the top three that we should be scared of, so why are we struggling to keep up with them?

Newcastle - bad start, improving but still not that good
Fulham - decent win at old trafford but inconsitent
Charlton - making the most of slip ups by the rest
Birmingham - moving slowly down the table and back up again
Southampton - hitting a bad spell of form

Anyone suggest a team we should be behind outside the top three?
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer
