WIGAN VS LIVERPOOL

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Lads are playing a binder today, and Im hoping (close to praying) that we have finally turned the corner.

We've strung together a half decent run and we need into continue until the end of the season. I like what Im seeing from BR tactics are starting to work...

BR can allow some fresh players get their chance. Both Lucas and Allen carrying a yellow and Gerrard deserves a rest.

Glad we're winning the game, but it's mostly been down to an absolutely horrendous Wigan performance today. Again, we've taken the gas off the pedal in the second. If BR wants fourth, he needs to look at the goal difference at this stage in the league, because we're bound to slip-up again soon.

Glad for Coutinho today though, has played very well. As far Suarez, not much to say about the leading EPL goalscorer  :bowdown

Today's game showed the power of clinical finishing. Wigan produced more chances at goal ,but we were composed and focused and trashed a weak Wigan defense.

Very comfortable game.  Suarez obviously MOTM.  Coutinho was very impressive, tired a bit later on so I understand the sub.  To be honest I thought it was a bit of a gamble to keep Lucas on til the end on a yellow.  Every time he went in for a ball in the last half hour I was cringing and thought he was lucky to stay on the pitch at one point when he commited a foul in the final third.  Great game.  Great result.  Keep going lads.  Spurs next.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

Coutinho looks very promising, he was pretty good tracking back and getting stuck in along with the obvious passing and vision.  Suarez looks really happy to have him!

Top performance by the team. Wigan weren't great but can only beat what's in front of you and we did that comprehensively. Spurs next up and confident of rolling them over. We were unlucky at their place and they won't fancy a trip to Anfield

Great performance. Never really in doubt. Coutinho looks like a great buy. He's got great technique and vision. Really glad we opted for him instead of ince. Reina had a good game. No mistakes and a couple of great saves. Suarez again was immense.

My Only criticism is we look shaky as hell when defending set pieces. Also wish BR would have used the other two subs. Game was over by halftime and it would have been an ideal time to give suso and Shelvey runouts to boost their confidence

So who do we replace next week for Sturridge?  I'm assuming Downing? He scored today and I thought he was decent when he had the ball, but I felt he was really quiet for large parts of the game.

Sturridge in for Downing next week. Downing had a decent game today however Sturridge walks back in considering his form before injury and his goal threat

Suarez a true genius at work is now getting the support he deserves and it may just be the catalyst that keeps him at Liverpool. Sturridge has been a revelation and it was good to see us play so well without him. Coutinho looks like a sensational buy. Gerrard is playing as well as ever. Downing seems to have woken up! Really good to see Joe Allen getting in to the attack. Johnson and Enrique are also happy to get stuck in a both ends of the pitch. Consistency is now the key!

Twelve goals in three games and looking really impressive.Come on !!!  :grinning:  :grinning:  :grinning:

Great result, well done to the lads,

Hopefully Spurs and Gunners will draw tonight and without any cup matches we give it all in last quarter of the season
