SWANSEA CITY VS LIVERPOOL: Monday 16th Sep SS1 8pm

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby ethanr » Wed Sep 11, 2013 6:10 pm

Beginning of the season I would have been happy to get a point away to Swansea. LIke many have pointed out, it's no easy game. However, the way we have been playing (not fantastic but winning) then I'll only be happy with a win here.

Now Sturridge will score in the 2nd minute, and we will be on our back foot the rest of the game. 1-0 to us, 80-20% possession to Swansea.

No I think this game will hopefully allow us to open up more. We need to score more than one goal, I feel like there's this line we haven't crossed of scoring more than once, but once we do I think the goals will start flowing a lot more for us. No clue if Skrtel or Sakho will start this one for us, and same with Moses or Aspas.

Andre Wisdom is expected to deputise at right back. Daniel Sturridge is expected to be fit for Swansea. (Tony Barrett)

Swansea away will be a tricky game, but they're not in the best of forms and we should use that.

I'm not sure who we should start in defense. I think that Skrtel is the prime candidate to start the game, but Toure will apparently be fit as well, and there's Sakho as well. I personally wouldn't be starting with Sakho, and I'd only consider Toure if he's 100% fit. Wisdom should be able to do OK at right back.

I'm also not sure whether or not we should be starting with Moses. Aspas wasn't that good in his first 3 games, but I think that it would be best to introduce Moses later in the game.

I wouldn't be surprised if we draw this one, but I'm predicting a 2-0 or a 2-1 win for us.

We Beat Stoke, Villa and the Mancs, so I can't see these posing a massive obstacle. Any 3 points will do.

Lets win like "Benny the Noon" (Ugly!!)  :)

I too have my reservations concerning starting Wisdom ,against Notts County his positioning and awareness around the box were God awful to say the least.
I don't see Rodgers mixing it up too much from the Manc game,I definitely think Moses will start on the bench, and I think Rodgers will see how Aspas fares
against a Swansea defence that was all over the place against the Mancs. I expect Moses to be introduced when the need to tinker with the formation becomes
essential and the need to be more expansive in our play becomes more apparent.

I hope we don't need to make changes though and we have enough in our armoury to overcome Swansea.

I'd actually like to see our 3 CB's with wing backs. Enrique is good enough going forward, and Moses with a point to prove could slot in as a wingback with his pace.

              Mignolet

  Skrtel  Sakho  Agger

Moses                   Enrique
              Lucas
     Gerrard   Hendo
           Coutinho

          Sturridge

Something like that would be ok for me. Hell, with Hendo's work rate he'd even work as a wing back if we wanted to put Coutinho and Moses/Aspas in the wide three roles.

Depending on injuries i would play the same side that played v United bar Johnson.

They will all have confidence after the united win.

This is a game where Coutinho will flurish he will have time space and Swansea arent that much of physical side.

A draw would be accpetable but think we have the quality to win the game.

Looks far more comfortable at RB than CB though. At CB he looks nervous.

I like the lad but he still hasn't settled in any position yet ,made way too many errors when played. Sakho should start and u can put skertel as RB if glen is out.

Skrtel is never a right back - played there once against Boro in 08/09 and got torn apart by their winger ( think was Downing )

Didn't he play at RB under Kenny for 2 games? The first game he was phenomenal and was awarded man of the match I think. Second game he failed miserably and hasn't been used as a RB since :D

Anyway, Skrtel will never be a RB under Brendan. I think BR would rather play McLaughlin there rather than Skrtel (and I'd approve that), who can hardly get a game as a CB never mind a RB. We'll play Wisdom for this one and I'm sure that he will do fine.
