Liverpool Football Club - Games

So here we are again trying to turn another corner!

At the start of the season we went into the league as one of the favorites to win the title and this game would have been seen as one where we could rest a few players over the Christmas period.....

Fast forward a few months and this is now another "must win" match. We cant afford to rest anyone and must play or best team. Our performance against Wigan was a lot better when we pushed Gerrard back into the middle so what does he do against Porstmouth? bring Lucas and Mash back together and Gerrard again becomes anonymous

If Aqualini is fit he should play but even if he is I doubt he will start. There is no need in the world to play two holding midfielders at home to Wolves. I know Mash is out for this one but i just hope Rafa plays a more attacking midfield then what we are used to seeing this year

Insua looks like he needs to be dropped for a few games, his form has gone write out the window. Fabio should come in for him with Johnston, Carr and Agger. Wolves can be good in the air, especially with Doyle and with our record this season with set plays we need to be very wary of this.

Anyway ill go for a 2-0 win - Torres with them both

The last time we played this crowd it took a Sami Hyypia (who we really miss this season) last min goal to sneak a 1-0 win. Lets hope its not the same in this one

We really ought to win obviously but I haven't put it in my last man standing put it that way. Wolves have hit a little bit of form, and we are truly absolutely awful. If Wolves can score first, it may get very ugly indeed. Like I say we ought to win three or four, but such is the debacle around our club it really doesn't take much to punture our balloon right now.

It would be handy if Wolves play Pompey or someone in their match after this one and they might rest the whole team. Mind you, the way things are going if they were playing Chelsea before us they'd probably rest their first team for that one so they were fresh against us. They'll be harbouring outside chances of getting above us before too much longer.

Its up to the lads to show some mettle.

If we dont win this then forget CL for next season, it'll be Rafa's death warrant and we'll have to endure months of the media abuse.

The only way we can get back on track is to win ALL the games over the crimbo period.

Mate, from what I'm reading on various threads and other sites, Gerrard isn't er.sed anymore, either this season or even bothered 'cos he doesn't believe he'll win the PL with Liverpool; Rafa doesn't seem to have the ability to inspire us to victory over even the bottom club in the league; our alleged midfield maestro Masch looks like he's more interested in kicking lumps out of opposition players than contributing to the team, and looks pi$$ed off that he's even playing for us; we have a £20m signing who - if the game against Fiorentina is anything to go by - wanders around the centre of the pitch at the end of the match thinking to himself "What the phuck have I got meself into ?"....
We have fans divided in loyalties between the Stay/Go camps.
We have a disjointed ownership structure that has more cracks than a brothel.

Need I say more ?

Oh yeah, a prediction fof the weekend.....I reckon Wolves will probably frighten the bejaysus out of us and win by one goal....

I love the blind optimism some of you are showing. The way I see it is I would bet on Wolves beating Portsmouth and they comfortably beat us. I saw draw and hopefully a change in manager.

We will probably destroy them, get our expectations up in the sky, only to be beaten in the next game. It already happened to us a few times this season, anyone remember?
