The two young Spaniard impressed me today...pretty solid defending...lots of energy going forward. Taxi for Johnson

great result and performance, which will only improve as Mario gets match fit and the new lads get use to our play,

Loved those two fullbacks today, their age showed at times but they were entirely committed and gave their best, even covered for our shaky defenders in the first half a few times. They're my men of the match.

Class that.

Impressed with the new lot.

Not seen a fullback do what Moreno did since Riise.

Happy Sunday

Moreno is my MOTM...Sterling was good but he got a bit fancy play in the second half.

6 points out of 9 from a really tough August fixture list.  Great win.  Some brilliant football at times.  Can't ask for much more from the lads.  f*cking made up over our start to the season.  Obviously Monday was not what we wanted but they bounced back well in another tough game away from home.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

We've got alot of quality coming off the bench now, after the subs, our intensity didn't go down... Which Imo we didn't have last season...

I know I'll get reemed for this, a lot has been said about our cb's today but it's a new pairing and sakhos first game so room for improvement,  however I thought the weak link today was SG, yes he scored a pen but his distribution and set piece balls were poor to say the least, he could have had an off day but maybe he just needs to be used a bit more sparingly.

The fact Spuds came in on a high after 4 back-to-back win, we school them again and restrict them to only 1 shot on target all night (ok the last game they have zero shots all night but we gotta make Mignolet earn his pay check) so that's a good take away.

Not getting carried away until all the new boys have settled and Brendan have a clearer view of the starting XI but today's game is quite impressive in many way, especially with the quality off the bench.

Really good team performance, comfortably our best of the season so far. Sterling, Sturridge and Ballotelli seemed to strike up a good understanding and things look promising as an attacking unit. For me that is our best lineup except i would play Couthino instead of Joe Allen. The defence was much improved by having those two clowns Skertl and Johnson removed, i really hope we stick with that back four for a while. Only negative is that we still our struggling to keep possession when we need to slow the game down, Gerrard going for too many cross field balls and Allen to light weight to withstand pressing at times, but over all pretty good.
