Saha doesnt play for everton.

No creativity again ffs.

Well at least we have Stevie and Jonno so that's a start.

Is Aquilani on the bench?

Riera, benayoun, Babel, Aquilani, Torres all out of the starting 11... guessing they're all injured then... If any of them was even half fit i would have started him... Heck if Voronin was available i would have started him and moved Gerrard back to play a 4-4-2...

Our setup is too flat in every sense... its 2 banks of 4 with Gerrard and Johnson being asked way too much in such a game... Moyes should be laughing at our lineup.. PREDICTABLE, LACKING IN QUALITY, and easy to defend against... My guess is that Gerrard will be marked out of the game early on... We'll then need to bring on Aquilani or a forward to free up Gerrard a little...

I wasn't aware that Yossi was injured. If he was fully fit the only change I would have considered was replacing Insua with Aurelio and playing Yossi at LM. The line-up is an indictment of our current weak squad.

Some of the things that have affected us most this season are a lack of continuity, fluidity and balance. At least we can put the same team out twice in a row for once, and at the same time Torres, Aquilani and Reira get closer to playing again. I remember playing Standard Liege last season and they nearly beat us with 11 average players just because they gelled as a team, like us at the end of last season.

I hope Stevie's injury has settled, he was clearly unfit against Debrecen. Given where we're currently at it may be worth resting him or getting surgery so that we have him for later in the season.

Should be close but I think we'll win (then again, I alway do).

There is two things I would consider doing.

Firstly, put some men on the line for set plays, we've got to cut out the goals from corners, crosses and free kicks so it's worth a try and Everton trumped us on this last year.

Second, let Lucas off the leash a bit more. Leave Mascherano to sit and encourage Lucas to push forward, even put some pressure on him to score goals the way Rafa did with Stevie a few years ago. I think he's capable of playing as a more attacking player than how we're currently using him.
