ARSENAL VS LIVERPOOL - Sunday 17 April 2011 16.00pm ko

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby maypaxvobiscum » Tue Apr 12, 2011 8:49 am

We find ourselves in a familiar position once again as by losing to Arsenal, we give hope to their title aspirations while keeping out record as Britain's most successful club in tact. OR, we could win this game and mathematically still be in hunt for 4th spot. To win or not to win?

Last 6 games between us and them...

Liverpool 1 1 Arsenal 15th Aug 10
Arsenal 1 0 Liverpool 10th Feb 10
Liverpool 1 2 Arsenal 13th Dec 09
Liverpool 4 4 Arsenal 21st Apr 09
Arsenal 1 1 Liverpool 21st Dec 08
Arsenal 1 1 Liverpool 5th Apr 08

Arsenal may be forced to play Lehmann as all their keepers are injured. Alumina injured himself during warm-up in their last match i believe, hence that grumpy German was thrown into action. As usual, they are having issues with their defense as many of their players are injured so Suarez and Carroll could have some fun with them. despite that, i reckon it will either be a draw, or a narrow win for Arsenal especially when one considers how we've not beaten in for the past 6 matches.

As much as I hate the Mancs, I can't ever watch a Liverpool match and want us to lose.
I hope we stuff Arsenal and somehow they still become champions.

But lets be honest, the Mancs are going to go 1 or 2 ahead of us sooner or later.  We need to accept that and use it as motivation.

The way I look at it, the Mancs will overtake our record sooner or later, but it wont take us as long as it too them to get that crown back.  Liverpool are opn the way up where as Utd are standing still or even moving backwards as they have not replaced some key players of there team in recent seasons.

Arsenal 1 - Liverpool 3
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

If we press them when we don't have the ball like we did last night we've got a chance. Sit off and we'll get beat. Simple.

Same team as last night. No need to change it.

The problem is we don't do that away, hence our dire away form.

If we did we'd turn over teams for fun.

It will be very hard, but I think Arsenal will be defeated.

Arsenal 2-3 Liverpool

Arsenal have been giving up cheap goals to bad teams.  Imagine what 2 talented strikers can do.  Suarez has been on fire and Carroll has shown what he can do.  The only game Carroll has played against Arsenal this season, Newcastle won 1-0 off a Carroll header.  He tore them apart and I'm expecting much of the same.  Arsenal have a shaky defense and an even shakier keeper.  I see our forwards causing them a lot of problems.  Unfortunately, they still have RVP, Fabregas and Nasri, so I see us coming out narrow winners in this one.

Carroll, Suarez, Carroll

I want Arsenal to win the title but I don't see it happening.  I can't stand ever wanting to see Liverpool drop points, so I want us to win this game as much as any other.

We have nothing to lose so Kenny should play the formation he wants to use next season and start adjusting to find the best combination. Personally I'd go full tilt into every remaining game this season telling the players they're playing for their places next season.
