C'mon, there is no way Xabi will return as a footballer.
He is on twice the wages and 29 years old.

That makes it impossible for it to happen.

The wages are prohibitver and our owners will only shell out money if you are a teenager or low 20's so it make market sense.

Buying finsihed world class players is something we can forget.

No matter what happened with Rafa - Xabi would of left because

A. The owners wouldn't of turned down 30mil in a million years

And

B. It was the biggest club in his home country .

If R Madrid hadn't bid for him then he wouldn't of left .

Xabi left and managed to double his wages as well as returning to his home country .

If he was that heartbroken and desperate to leave why didn't ask to leave ?

He only left when Madrid came sniffing .

Still at it I see?
Barry or Alonso....? Hmmm let me think...

no knife was put in his back, he was told he could be sold, nothing was done behind his back

It's all about perspective...

Your point is what ?

This is not a comparisson between the players - this is the fact that Alonso would of left to go to Madrid and double his wages no matter what happened

The owners wouldnt of turned down the bid and Xabi would of accepted the offer .

If I was told that Gareth Barry was better than me then I would feel like I had been stabbed in the back, kicked in the teeth and dry bum fu'cked all at the same time
Anyway. We all have our own take on what happened and whos to blame. I know who caused it.
FACT!

No one told Alonso Barry was better than him .

Alonso left because Madrid bid 30 mil and offered to double his wages - that is a fact .

This is my last word because I cant be ar'sed
I have heard, with my own ears Benitez saying that he wanted Barry to replace Alonso. If I'm not mistaken he wanted Keane to partner Barry, But the board bought Keane without Barry and Benitez didnt want him so he made sure he made Keane want to leave.
Alonso had already made his mind up to leave because of the way Benitez had treated him
Those who wish to see what happened their way with Benitez being the victim and Alonso the baddie can please themselves
In my opinion a great player was ousted by a loon and no twisting will change my mind
