He's undoubtedly a fantastic player but I'm unconvinced you could accomodate him in a team in the English Premiership. He'd be a virtual passenger when you haven't got the ball, and playing where he does would need to produce a couple of pieces of magic per game to make up for his deficiencies in a defensive sense. He's a great player but I'm not so sure he could do it.

if thats the case mick with riquelme, think about luis garcia !?!

Can everyone stop dreaming about David Villa?

If, and that's the biggest if you'd ever see in football, he became available, we would be the last club to get him. He is worth over 40m. Whatever Chelsea would pay to get Schevchenko, Adriano or Etto, they'd pay for Villa. Add Real Madrid and Barcelona to that list.

Since we're dreaming, I hope we get Ronaldo. He is still the most talented striker in the world. His problem is appetitie for the game. If he keeps copping abuse from the Madrid fans, maybe he'll think to himself he still has a point to prove. I'm not dreaming we get him, I'm dreaming we get him and he still has fire in his belly.

And that makes me the biggest idiot on this board for the day

Your sarcasm makes me laugh. :D

But that doesnt change the fact that some people just dont understand that Liverpool doesnt have funds like Chelsea and not all players want to play for the Reds.

I read someone here suggesting we pay 120 million for Villa (no kidding) and a smaller sum around 50 million for Torres with a "buy out clause".

"Rafa ready for £6million raid    Thu, Apr 20 2006 11:11
Rafa Benitez is set to launch a £6million raid for Blackburn ace Craig Bellamy in favour of handing Michael Owen an Anfield return.
The Reds boss has pondered the merits of a £12million release clause inserted in to Owen's contract upon his move to Newcastle United from Real Madrid last summer, but a bout of injury problems appear to have put Benitez off the England international.
Wales hitman Bellamy represents a bargain deal in comparison, having plundered 17 goals in 29 outings for Rovers since his departure from St James' Park last summer.

Eyebrows were raised when the 26-year-old headed for Ewood Park following his much-publicised fall out with former Magpies boss Graeme Souness. However, it appears Bellamy negotiated a clause when signing that would allow him to move in the event of a Champions League qualified club offering £6million - £1million more than Rovers boss Mark Hughes paid for him a little under 12 months ago.

With Benitez set to ring the changes to his forward line in the close season, question marks remain over the futures of Djibril Cisse, Fernando Morientes and Robbie Fowler.

With at least two of those three seemingly heading for the exit door, a move for Bellamy may not be the only foray in to the market for a striker made by the Reds chief."

That is quite interesting if true. Would be a great piece of business at that price, in my opinion.

if any one can straighten Craig Bellamy out it's Rafa.

Taking nothing away from Graeme Souness (as a LFC legend), he does not exactly have the best record for "man management"!

Bellamy is a nasty little sod

But ...... he has got a tremendous desire to be a winner and we would give him the platform to do it!!!

Cannot see it happening though
