Which is the bigger club? - Arsenal v liverpool

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Considering we are the biggest club in the world i'm sure the board will have no problem finding the £100 million required to build us a team capable of competing with the top three.

Biggest team
most successful in england YES
Europe -Real Madrid
Current most successful in england- Arsenal
Financially- Scum
Fan Base - Scum
Ground - Scum
Transfer Budget- Chelsea
Buying power-Real Madrid, Chelsea
Most well known in the world - Liverpool, Scum, Real Madrid

It seems to me, and it hurts to say, We are falling behind and still living on our reputaion from the past, and don't seem to want or accept change

Agreed Dav.  We have fallen behind.  We have to accept that before a strategy can be devised to enable us to compete again.

Its all gonna change. Maybe not this season. Maybe even not the next. But it is gonna change. Lets put things in perspective.

Scums are popular because of their sucess in the 90s and david beckham. They don't have beckham anymore. And their success is getting more & more limited.

Chelsea - They are currently competing with the big boys because of roman. One man controls the destiny of the club. Safe isn't it  :p

Arsenal - Freak. Just one word to describe arsenal's sucess. Who would have thought Arsene Wenger would turn up as  good as this when arsenal signed him ? And look at all the players wenger bought on the cheap (including their reserves). 1 word....freak. Most likely wenger will go to real next season...so the fate of arsenal  :p

it seems to me we only want investment from someone who dosen't want any control of the club - (that aint going to happen)
Ground share- Going by the other post, this isnt what people want. (fair enough) But a 60thousand all seater sharing with everton would benefit us alot

So if neither of the above is going to happen, then what
money makes money, buys players and wins tropheys
So unless a wealthy tooth fairy comes along, or we except change. How can we compete with the best? ???? ????

At the moment we are way behind Arsenal. They do not have the largest budget however they spent very well indeed and appointed a marvellous manager. This is something we have not managed to do. Because of their success they have been able to negotiate a deal for a new stadium. This is because their brand is attractive right now. Despite Liverpools huge fanbase which dwarfs Arsenals we have not been able to make it count either on or off the field. This is down to bad decisions at board and management level over a number of years. If we had got it close to right then things should be very different. In short we are a bigger club, but that guarantees you nothing. You have to press home that advantage in every way you can, if you fail, you let your opponents in. Man Utd, Arsenal and now Chelsea have capitalised on that since the Premiership began so we now find ourselves chasing them year after year. Lets hope we can get it back.
