At the moment our situation is shocking, the owners are tw.ats, we all know that, but have we at least kept our soul?

Would ayone on here rather be like Citeh, able to sign Viera even though he was no where near passing his medical , just because we could?

Would you rather have unlimited funds than where we are now?

I'd love stability, kinda like the Gooners, so funds are available, but nothing mad.

I know this sounds insane, but I honestly prefer our situation to Cheatski or Citeh. We are an honest club going through hard times, but we have kept our soul, and that's just as important to me.

(would be ncie to have some cash tho)

I'm not starting this to start arguements... I'm just wondering how others feel?

I think the majority would rather we keep up with our traditions and if success comes then great.
I dont think most supporters would feel anywhere near the same elation if we went out and spent 200 million and then started winning things.
Its not like we have been too far off over the last few seasons and we have won trophies fairly regulaly even if we havent won the league for too long.

I agree with you daws to an extent . I obviously don't want us to be in the position we are in ,that's a given .I certainly don't want us to be like city or chelseas either . In an ideal world we'd be owned by us the fans and that would be great . I just want someone who'll bring some stability back ,some sense and some pride in our club again . I don't want billions , just enough to let the manager compete ,whomever that manager is ,and for the said manager to be able to do his job properley and not have to be a politician or some sort of peace maker between warring owners.

I would prefer us to gain money through success but with so many other clubs such as chelsea, man city etc spending so much money, our chance of success is more difficult.

Financialy, Arsenal are in a nice position. They are making profit and theyve just built a new stadium. Yet they are still not far of the top of the prem. Would be nice if we had similiar finances to them.

I wouldn't mind real ale served up, at cost, for season ticket holders... :D

I just want owners who care about how we do and not just so we can meet their payments.
I found myself wishing in the week that proper football men like Sullivan and Gold had the money to take us over, men who can see there are gaps in the squad and take action to sort it.
Where as our manager doesnt even get to spend half of what is brought in though sales.
How can our owners expect us to compete at the top without giving the manager funds to replace the departed?

Billionaire arabs would be preferrable to G&H though it would take away from any successes.

Even more preferrable would be an owner prepared to commit to the long-term future of the club, providing a sustainable level of investment along the way, before realising a return on their investment.

To have the heart and soul of the club comes first, the club's personality gives its appeal. If we could get rich owners, no way would I want our values to change, not a chance

I would probably give up on football altogether if this great club of ours ended up like city or chelsea. Can you imagine? a new manager every 6 months if he fails to justify the £100 million he has spent during the summer. Just the thought of it makes me shudder. HOWEVER, I wouldnt have too many gripes if a good amount of money was spent on a new and bigger stadium. That would put us in a good position financially while still relying on the success the club achieves to fill that stadium.

I do a quiz on a regular basis at the moment. We came second last week having missed out on winning by losing the tie break. This week we finished fifth and missed out on the prize money placings. I was more pi'ssed off with our performance coming second than missing out on the money because when we came second we should have won it by a country mile.

So what is my point? That whether we've got £200m to spend or £20k it's how we spend it, making most of every thing big or small including tactics, selections, transfers, effort, training and so on. Sure we could win lots if we had more money, but we've not done great with what we have and what we've spent.

Would I be happier with more money? I'm more annoyed we've not done better when we've had the opportunity, wasting chances in terms of the title last season and play poorly so we lose to pompey away etc We're inefficient in most departments, the efficiency coordinator is known as Rafa and I reckon even if you gave him £200m he wouldn't be sure of winning the league. The Arsenal set up is way better than our's, their efficiency coordinator is maybe a touch overcautious and penny-pinching, but he does a far better job.

Hang on now I'm truly fecking confused, everyone, and I do mean everyone on this forum constantly winges and whines about the owners not giving Rafa enough funds but now that's all ok becuase we are being honest, WTF???

Show me the money dammit!!  :D

in all seriousness I would much rather support Liverpool, with all its magnificently rich traditions than some upstart nuvo riche club although in fairness both Chelsea and Citeh have a lot of history behind them.

We are not in the 1980s anymore football has changed.

If you want to succeed these days you need money and lots of it.

Why are we in a load of trouble - because we have no money

What are City looking up? - because they have money

Answer to Dawsons question - gimme money and lots of it.

As bad as it sounds, money is essential for success in the modern world of football. That is what we need at the moment to drive the club forward and we will just have to keep everything crossed that this can be done without harming the tradition of Liverpool. Its daft to have people moaning about the lack of investment but wanting to stick to traditional values - i fear it is something which will be hard to combine but if we want to compete with the best then we need money, and lots of it.
