I feel we can field a first eleven that can live with any of the top six teams in the premiership, but when we lose are best players to injury or suspension, we have a lack of quality (sh##e in other words) standing in, these players include Biscan, Cheyrou, Traore, Diao, Vignal Etc.

Bruno Cheyrou was garbage yesterday, I lost count of the amount of times that he let Chelsea players ghost past him especially Jesper Gronkjer. I can't believe GH or PT rate him highly enough to play him in the first team, he has not had one good game for LFC. Martin Tyler said in commentary yesterday that GH would of liked to of brought in some English tallent, but could not afford anyone (Joe Cole £6m). GH was also described as an expert in the French market, WHO has he brought to LFC in the past six years with real quality? Maybe Le Tallec or Pongolle? Does anyone agree?

Diouff will prove to be a good buy.Baros is a hopeful prospect and HK is quality.Oh! and big Chris Kirkland will be England no.1 for next years euro championships.

I don't disagree with what you are saying, but do you not think a club like Liverpool could of afforded £6M for Cole, who would of brought passion to the team as that is the only way he knows how to play, and we would not have to play donkeys like Cheyrou or Biscan and at the same time put pressure on the likes of Murphy and Gerrard to up there games.

I agree but we had no money or the club aren't willing to hand Houllier anymore money.

There is strong rummours as reguarding this Argie from Valencia, Who is being valued at £7M (29year old).

to win the title, we must have good 22, 11 are not enough!!! if someone in injury or not in best form, we have super sub....
EPL is playing throughout 9-10 months....plus FA Cup, League Cup, UEFA Cup.....we must have good 22!!!

we don't want when Gerrald or Hamann can't play, we line up Biscan or Cheyrou and playing like away from home but actually we are playing at Anfield.....

quality not quantity, unless you can get a special disspensation to play all 22 at once.
even then it would be touch and go......

Looking through threads from a while back, before I was even a member and I spotted this 1. Reason I'm bringing it back is because I think it still applies today to our current squad. Our first 11 is pretty strong, but it's the back up after it that's letting us down.

Also supersub, I hope you've gotten the ability to spot talent out of your system. As 5 years ago according to you Diouf would turn out to be a good signing for us, good going mate

. Also in our best 11 all those years back, people actually had it without Jamie Carragher, shame on you. I'd of had him in that team, probably instead of Riise at left back.

Just thought I'd bring this thread up to date.
