no Rio?

I mean Carra has had a great season, but better than Rio?

don't let bias cloud your judgment AB.

I would also put Duff ahead of Downing, and for that Right mid slot i think Robert Pires.

plus you only have 18 players. :D

I'll do a championship manager and have two full teams, the first players in each category are the starting team

Gk's: Cech, Niemi

Rb's: Finnan, Ferreira
Lb': Cole, Heinze
Cb's: Terry, Ferdinand, Carragher, Campbell

Rm's: Ronaldo, Wright-Philips
Lm's: Giggs, Duff (robben hasnt played enough to knock giggs out)
Cm's: Lampard, Alonso, Cahill, Keane

CF's: Henry, Rooney, Drogba, Johnson (come on you have to have a couple of players from outside the top 5!)

interesting selctions? no Vieira or Gerrard - Cahill better than those two?

Robben is class, who cares how mnay games he has played, he's better than Duff, and Giggs is not the player he once was, but still a very good player.

Defoe would be picked over Johnson IMO, and Drogba has no right to be there - Reyes, RVN, Shearer - all better than Drogba IMO.

Vieira has been a shadow of himself this season, I dont think all the talk about his move to Real at the start of the season did him any good at all.  Gerrard has had patches of his last season form but in my opinion Cahill has done more for his side than gerrard has for us this season, and Everton are still above us in the league... also i havent brought gerrards european performances into the equation because it is after all your 22 premiership players.  I'm a bigger fan of Duff than Robben and for me Giggs has been inspired this season, perhaps because he's playing for a new contract but for me he's been better than both this season.  And Drogba impresses me very much.  Ok so he hasnt scored as many goals as other strikers this season but i think he looks like a quality player.  RVN has never impressed me.  He can score as many tap-ins and penalties as he likes it wont make a shred of difference to me, Reyes had a fantastic start to the season but has been very quiet since christmas and Shearer... well my apologies he must have slipped my mind, he can take johnson's place and still give me at least 3 players from outside the top 5 :;):

are talking about best ability or sportsmanship or an overall of the two combined?

Because if you introduce sportsmanship then the following people cannot be entered due to being divers:

Damien Duff
Cristiano Ronaldo
Joe Cole
Gudjohnson (who i used to respect as a player...not anymore)

its a shame that so many top players dive too much. Baros is our main offender but cheatski seem to have taught the whole team how to dive... ruining the game wich is a shame.
Czech ahs always remained a well respected player tho
