When he first arrived at Villa Sherwood had a bit of a moan about him being nowhere near fit enough to play premier league games (don't forget he arrived back late from the Euro U21's and missed most of pre season), he then got injured and by the time he returned Villa were on a terrible run.

You gotta think though, if Villa won't play him then he probably isn't good enough for our first team.

All the papers are now printing what i posted on the match thread last night, they have officially approached Villa to recall Ilori

Maybe he will finally get his chance, hope he ceases it and proves himself

He's still only 22 though mate which is very young for a CB, not many teams in the middle of a relegation battle would turn to someone that young especially when they have prem proven battlers like Richards and Lescott on their books.
However we are looking for different things than Villa, they want someone who will sit deep and roll their sleeves up where as we are looking for someone with pace and good ability on the ball who will allow us to play with a really high line.
If we are going to stick with this pressing game of Klopps we have got to learn how to reduce the size of the pitch, having pacy defenders like Moreno, Clyne and Ilorri will allow us to do that.

Rumours are that we have contacted Villa about bringing him back ,I think these injuries could gift the talented defender the chance to stake his claim.

Posted the Ilori rumour last night, but just following on Even if Ilori gets his loan at Villa cancelled he would not be able play at Exeter in the FA Cup as he has not been registered in time

   no mate, was just saying was all lol

On a side note and slightly off topic (i don't think he has one -yet-) but Liverpool are set to recall 18 year-old Sheyi Ojo from his loan spell at Wolves. The winger could be in the squad to face Exeter on Friday.

So will he not be eligible for the Exeter game, or is it the entire FA Cup?

That's good news, hopefully the lad gets a run out on Friday and shows everyone what he can do.

Good news that he is back and playing in the FA Cup. Hopefully he can become the player we all thought he could when we signed him.

Desperate times really when club is forced to scrat around trying to get discarded players back in an emergency.

We want all Liverpool players to do well but Ilori has a very poor record in senior football and chances of him being anywhere near good enough are very slim.

Not convinced from today's performance. Looked lightweight and lacking on all fronts.

Nowhere near the standard we need.
