Benjani and Sol Campbell ?! Whoever next but at least it is on the right level of player that we can attract these days

You really must read the whole post sometimes Ben as it adds a bit of context. I said if we had absolutely no money whatsoever before I suggested those players. I don't FWIW think we wil have absolutely no money whatsoever, but as it's an internet forum on Liverpool football club, I kind of just threw it out there.

There'll probably be some overspill from Man City, Real Madrid and one or two others where we might be able pick up a real bargain. Michael Johnson if we need midfield cover for instance, Santa Cruz as a striking option or Onuoha/Richards for the defence. Or from Madrid we might look at Drenthe for LB, Diarra as midfield cover/starter, Granero or Van der Vaart. Luisao or David Luiz are worth considering as CB options if we have a decent amount to spend.

If David Luiz is the Benfica bloke with the fluffy hair, then he looked a really top player when they played us. Good shout him (if it is him obviously).

I think Roy should do a Gollum and look in the championship for rough diamonds

We could get Alessandro Diamanti from West Ham before someone else steals him, the guy is absolute class and now that Zola has gone we could surely secure his services. Theres also that kid Earnshaw from...sorry I mean Carlton Cole, big striker- excellent on the deck that quite possibly is a superstar waiting to happen? we could get both for 9 mill, too much? both these guys are 25 -26 with the best 5 years ahead of them.

Drenthe would be a great shout, gone off the radar somewhat now and maybe a steal, i think he would meet the pace of the premiership. Johnson and Ireland would be good additions too and shouldn't break the bank. I like the idea Roy is looking at British buys, might be an end to alot of oversea gambles that we have had since the days of Houlier

The idea of looking at British people is a great idea in theory but surely in practical terms is it not a bad idea 1. They are far more expensive 2. As shown in recent world cup and under 21 champs the players aren't actually that good
