Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier has admitted claims that captain Steven Gerrard is to leave the club for Manchester United.
The Red Devils, along with Chelsea and Arsenal, are thought to have been alerted by Gerrard's keenness to play UEFA Champions League football.
Gerrard has just signed a new long-term deal at Anfield and Houllier insists he cant stop the England star leaving the club.
"You would have to cut off both my arms before I let go of Steven Gerrard because I would have them both wrapped around him," said an armless Houllier today.
"He is not irreplaceable though. We have plans for a big star to take his place , someone like Dave Craddock "
"I wanted him to not only become Player of the Year in England but he has every chance to be European and World Player of the Year in the future with Manchester United"

Just seen, according to the racing post Gerrard is 2/7 to stay at liverpool, 9/2 to become a scummer, 5/1 to join chelski and 20/1 to join the a#se.
Id make him 1/1900000000000 on him staying here... coz hes frigging staying here!

why on earth would such quality as Michael owen and stevie G want to continue playing for Liverpool, if theres no champions league footy (strong possibility!) and no hope of pushing for a league title, seeing as houllier has reduced us to mediocraty!
My own opinion is, if we dont start looking good very soon! it wold be such a shame for Owen and stevie to not win a league or major honours in their careers, and they may well be off!
And this is Houlliers fault
If Any one leaves, Houllier is to blame

I woudn't criticise Owen OR Gerard for going EXCEPT if they went to Man U !!!!!!!!!! Anyway it won't hapepn , here's my opinion on what might happen .....IF we finish outside of thr CL , OWens off, Almost certain to go to barca or Roma......SG will saty until end of next season and IF we dont make CL he wil lleave for a foreign club ......
